Here are my completely irrelevant and SPOILER FREE scores for the matches tonight
QT/Solo vs YOSHI HASHI/Goto: 3 stars, perfect opener, QT pulling out crazy shit was a treat. Everyone looked solid
Lance Archer vs Nick Comoroto: 2.5 Stars, just a fun meat slappin meat contest, good hoss stuff
Keith Lee/Swerve vs Kanemaru/Despy: 3.5 Stars, this is free to view on Youtube... please view it, it was sensational
Max Caster/Billy/Colten/Austin Gunn vs LA Dojo: 2.5 Stars. Short, fun, and actually 5 stars for the Ass Boys song becoming canon, thanks Danhausen. It's crazy to see Billy work like he does.
Jericho/Guevara/Suzuki vs Kingston/Yuta/Umino: 3.5 Stars, tremendous match, Shooter and Yuta look like the legit future of wrestling, Jericho and Minoru look like ageless wonders, Kingston and Guevara did awesome shit. Guevara was the ultimate heel, Umino was a great Underdog.
FTR vs United Empire vs Ropongi Vice: 3.5 Stars, idk if Dax got actually hurt or not, but the crowd popped when he came back. Great match, right result, United Empire look like monsters.
PAC vs Miro vs Malakai Black vs Clark Connors: 3.5 Stars: Clark Connors arc in this really needs to be talked about. Bullied the whole match until he snapped. Crowd went from indifferent to downright rooting for him to win. Everyone played their roles well, and a really good winner and first champion for the belt
Sting/Darby/Takagi vs Young Bucks/El Phantasmo: 4 Stars. This was so much fun I can't even describe it. ELP and Sting were MVPs and Darby, Shingo and the Bucks were also at that level tonight. This made me sad Hiromu wasn't here, but it didn't matter, this match ruled.
Thunder Rosa vs Toni Storm: 3.5 Stars, these girls worked their asses off, very crisp, Rosa looks back to 100 percent, and great makeup and mannerisms from her, she looked like a bat out of hell. Storm also showcasing how hard WWE missed out is a treat.
Will Ospreay vs Orange Cassidy: 5 Stars. I don't see how this doesn't get five stars, and every dumb Orange Cassidy "Pockets" take can finally be buried in the ground where it belongs. He wasn't carried here, he held with Ospreay, and it was a f***ing fantastic clash of styles and story told, may watch it again.
Claudio Castagnoli vs Zack Sabre Jr: 5 Stars. Pure wrestling at its finest. Hard to have an alternate come in and also have a five star match in my eyes but Claudio did it. Terrific spots only that man can do, seeing him unleashed again and a hundred percent, and Zack's just one of the best to do it right now himself. This was worth the price alone.
Jay White vs Hangman Page vs Adam Cole vs Okada: 4 Stars. The ending was a bit sloppy for legit reason but everyone here looked like a million bucks by the end. It could have gone another few minutes and if it did, it would have been the third straight 5 star match tbh, it's great regardless.
Moxley vs Tanahashi: 4.5 Stars. Big Match Tana is still there, and he had that entire crowd behind him by the end. He and Mox worked a classic tonight, and it's well worth your time, and it was definitely a banger end to a banger PPV
Just top to bottom quality, PPV's an easy 10/10 for me, I know the post-match was sour to some people, but I will be hard pressed to find a better top to bottom card of match quality this year than this one. And that was with ALL THE INJURIES and replacements to it, that's insanity that it still turned out this good.
Maybe All Out or Full Gear could do it? But for now, this was just easily the PPV of the year for me.
