Kind of a spinoff of the diluted finishers...
Example:
Rick Rude started with the Rude Awakening being a DDT. This got changed to the standing neckbreaker from his WWF run on.
Justin Credible used...something else instead of the tombstone in the WWF, but it was still That's Incredible, I think?
Dunno if this was used outside of the Wrestlefest arcade game, but was Sgt. Slaughter's atomic noogie ever called the Cobra Clutch too? (instead of the sleeper variant, of course)

Dean Ambrose's "Dirty Deeds" was a headlock driver that got changed to a double-arm DDT to allow for less potential confusion with Adam Rose's snapmare-driver "Party Foul."
Goldust's "Curtain Call" went from being a lifting slam in his initial 96-99 run into a neckbreaker with the same set-up as the previous move for his 2002 return.
I may be misremembering this one, but didn't Disco Inferno's "Chartbuster"/"Disco Ball" go from being a stone cold stunner to a more traditional neckbreaker? This one is particular strange/confusing as I real both names being used for both moves at different times. (WCW everybody!)

And before then, Goldust's finisher was a straight up gourdbuster/front suplex. Not the reverse one that it became. I am not sure. After the stunner was given to the Disciple (whose friend was he to get one of the hottest finishers at the time??), he started using a piledriver instead, but I don't recall it being named. (apparently Disco used a variant stunner too, where the victim is bent over his shoulder in front, not behind, him...don't remember that making TV though...)

Here's another...sort of...
Jimmy Garvin apparently used the Ace Crusher as the "911". (I don't remember this) Previously, I THINK Badstreet used a second rope DDT which was called the same.

Toni Storms "Storm Zero" was her snap piledriver on the indies, then it was the Tiger Driver in WWE, now it's back to being the piledriver.

I dunno if it was JR’s penchant for making miscalls, but it seems like Edge had about 96 moves called the Edgeucution.
The Unprettier also became a reverse DDT for a spell.

Are you guys referring to the "Final Cut" when it comes to Goldust?

This is a HUGE stretch but how about Okada's shitty original rainmaker vs the one we all know and love now?

What about Mortis' Flatliner? The original was a basically a super Samoan Drop while the more familiar one is an inverted Russian Leg Sweep..

There was that period of time where seemingly every move of Lashley's was the Dominator.

Jay Lethal used to have a Lethal Injection I and II and neither of them were the handspring cutter he started using later.

Jeff Hardy called his facelock-into-cutter, facelock-into-stunner, and inverted facelock-into-neckbreaker all the Twist of Fate and Twist of Hate at various times. Sometimes, he did all of them at the same time!

The Pedigree was originally an Ace Crusher.

The Pedigree was originally an Ace Crusher. Wasn't Skinners first Gator Breaker a variant of The Pedigree in his first few matches and then changed to a Reverse DDT which would then be used by both Godwinns as The Slop Drop which then turned into the Eye Opener by Phineas when he became Mideon?

Then I think the Eye Opener became a regular neckbreaker.
