I'm going to go Summer 1991-Spring 1992, which is technically one year. The buzz around Summerslam '91 is one of my favorite periods. Heel Jake Roberts. Flair and Sid in the WWF. The rise of the Undertaker. The post-Flair period of WCW was real cool too, with the main event centering around Sting, Luger, Ron Simmons. Rick Rude jumping ship. Ricky Steamboat returning. Ah, the fiscal year, that was what I wanted to do. Summer 1986-Spring 1987. Hogan-Orndorff as a team, then the turn. Once that program winds down, Andre hires Heenan. Jake goes from heel to face. Savage as the company workhorse. Steamboat injury and revenge on Macho Man. Bulldogs and pretty meek tag Champs, Hart Foundation take over. Danny Davis heel ref angle. Ends when Honky Tonk Man wins the I-C title.

Another 2000 here, so many characters hitting right, the wrestling itself getting better and better.
Not a calendar year, but also around King of the Ring 93-94 was what really got me into wrestling. Bret, Owen, HBK, Razor, 123 Kid etc there were silly gimmicks down the card but I didn't mind. Still think the tag division is underrated from then, the Headshrinker, Quebecers, Steiners, Money Inc at the top, Smoking Gunns as your up and comers, MOM are silly but they were fun and over even if the ringwork wasn't there.

1998 babee. I even love watching it back. The last year that all 3 (WCW, WWF, and ECW) were on fire!

This is a great question. I think it's tough narrow it down. WWF 2000 is very memorable for me. I was in fifth grade and obsessed with it. I didn't miss a show. I wish i could buy every PPV.
WCW is probably 1997. 1999/2000 is a guilty pleasure. But, 1997 everything clicks for the company for the most part.
ECW 1997 for angles, but 2000 for in-ring stuff.
ROH 2005, 2009/2010.
TNA 2005/2006.

2000
To say I lived and breathed wrestling is an understatement. I spent just about every waking moment thinking about or watching wrestling. I mean, even Sunday Night Heat was must watch TV for me... because if I didn't watch...I might miss something.

I was aware of pro wrestling as early as 1985, but didn't really become a fan until 1992. by 1993, I was religiously into it.
I have the biggest nostalgia for 1993-1994, but 1996-1998 was probably the peak of my fandom.
Overall: I feel 1991 was the greatest year of WWF's "golden era." I haven't watched enough pre-1984 stuff.
1997 was the greatest Attitude Era year.
Best WCW year: mid-1996 through 1997.
I haven't watched enough ECW/old NWA era.

The early nineties were a lot of fun because I was a little kid and loved anything I got a chance to see. I started with old NWA tapes my cousin had and eventually became a big fan of Hogan and Savage. However, 1997 has to be the best year as a fan that I can remember. Both WCW and WWF had awesome shows and, for once, I was able to talk about wrestling with my friends at school due to how extremely popular it was.

2000
This is the year I started to get back into Wrestling after losing interest in it around 1996 time.
WWF was arguably the best it's ever been that year.
Great Roster, great PPV's.
I felt I picked a good year to get back into the product.

1992
It was the first year that I was following absolutely every tv show the WWF put out. The 1992 Rumble, Wrestlemania and Summerslam were all amazing and I would re-watch those shows all the time. It was during this 1992 that I picked up masses of Hasbro figures and was playing the hell out of Wrestlemania Challenge on the NES and Super Wrestlemania on the Mega Drive. Oh and we started putting on our own matches at school too.
Yeah, 1992 was the best year of my wrestling fandom!

1997 was pretty great for a variety of reasons. I was in college, where I'd just met some new friends who were HUGE fans and drove with them all over the place to see live shows. The nWo angle was forcing the WWF to move away from the New Generation hokeyness, and things felt edgy and unpredictable. That was also the year I got my first extended exposure to ECW. The internet was becoming a thing, with an infant version of the IWC and forums where you could speculate with smarks from all over the world. The video games started to become more realistic (WCW vs. the World absolutely blew my mind). The merchandise was cool. The new Jakks figures were cool. People who weren't even wrestling fans were casually aware of the big names because everything was taking off so quickly. It was just a beautiful time.
1987 is a close second because that's when I first got into it, at age 9, right around WM3 time, and just about everything they aired felt magical. I only wish my parents had taken me to more shows and that I'd had some disposable income to buy more toys and T-shirts.
