Didn't they do this to lance storm to? and Angel williams back in the day The Angel Williams story is pretty terrible, Stephanie went to development, looked at her and said she wasn't pretty enough to be a WWE Diva, she was released right after. Is there any source for that? I used to follow all the call-up and developmental rumours back then and I’ve never heard this. She was rumoured to be brought in to work with JBL (which Angelina has since confirmed) and she has also talked about how she was called up to Smackdown to be Matt Hardy’s girlfriend and the segment was cut minutes before. I’ve never heard anything about Stephanie saying she wasn’t pretty enough. This is why Stephanie discovering feminism rings so hollow, she's been in a position of power backstage since the early 2000s and so much of that saw things like the diva search and this. Didnt they dump the Muffy character after 1 appearance because she was supposed to be Stephs personal trainer? No, Caryn Mower (Muffy) said in an interview that she was doing these segments where she would go out and chastise the crowd for being fat and out of shape, and they’d show people on the titantron (you can find two online, but they don’t cut to the crowd). In one segment they showed a girl and her mother understandably flipped out. It was causing more of a problem than it was worth so they scrapped her character and sent her back to development. She only did that interview in the past few years so the “Stephanie didn’t like the implication she was fat!” excuse stuck around.

She's just as much a hypocritical money grabber as Vince. Not saying she is as 'bad' as Vince in other ways, of course.. but business mentality, sure.

I mean she basically said charity and philanthrophy was the future of marketing, that's as crass as it gets.

In her defense, she was recapping a talk she was at saying that rather than actually saying it herself. Now, she absolutely should NOT have done that because everything that happens under her watch has that lens on it but still.

Where do you see this reported? Only thing i can find is a rajah story about the rumors being that her being released due to her looks, with a separate paragraph saying Stephanie informed her of her release. Nothing saying Stephanie told her that directly, though maybe that’s out there and I can’t find it. But I’ve honestly not really heard many bad stories about Steph at all.

Yeah the Original Muffy story came from either Death of WCW or Scott Keith’s book. I remember reading it way back when.

Cause I remember reading it too... and it seems like a gimmick that would have been brought up at least briefly there. If the story is false I wouldn't be surprised both WC and Death of WCW wrote a lot of things based on hearsay or just flat got things wrong despite their talks of research. They're not the WORST offenders I've ever seen on this front but still.

Stephanie was also the one who came up with the "Molly Holly has a fat ass" storyline too. She sucks.
