They mostly all weren't. Ironically enough, the best ones from that phase were all from Dan Slott, before he started to suck (and Superior in itself is an absolute trash-fire if you really think long and hard about it) Okay, I think Big Time was supposed to be good. That was Slott I think? Correct, and you'll find very few dislike that phase of Slott's run (I hate it for what it did to MJ, Spider-Island excluded), Superior, despite having a split fanbase, is regarded as his absolute peak...and it's after that where almost everyone agrees Slott was creatively spent and wrote nothing but garbage. And now he's coming back. Having failed to work his mojo on Iron Man and Fantastic Four. Saints preserve us.

Yeah, I tapped out on Slott in the aftermath of that big Hydra thing and him building up Norman Osborn as the big bad again.
But then one of my biggest frustrations with Spider-man is that every 10 years or so the editorial team tries to retcon him back to the Spider-man they grew up with. Clone Saga, One More Day, etc. But he's hardly the only character they love to undo development on.

That's why I tapped out on almost every other hero Marvel has put out. Immortal Hulk got me back into the franchise 20 years after they kicked off Peter David, who's return then undid Bruce Jones' 2000-2001 run, and Cates' Hulk run has since put me right off again. The Krakoan era X-Men ruined my favourite X-Characters also. Iron Man? Never recovered after Civil War.

The movie version went a long way in helping but it was never the same after Civil War.
One thing I loved about Aaron's run on Thor was the consistency. He didn't always knock it out of the park but he was on that book for over five years and it was one of the last ones to leave my pull list and I didn't even really like Thor growing up. It's frustrating when new writers feel like they need to reinvent the wheel.
I was told by many that the current era of X-men is great but the more I read about it, the less interested I am. I may check it at some point in the future out of curiosity but doubtful.

Wrestling was so important to me from 95 on. Helped me with tough times as a kid and helped me make some good friends. A great escape from reality and I could have watched it 24/7.
I have zero desire to watch now. It wasnt a singular thing. Just a seemingly endless buildup of disappointments
