Been binging Seinfeld recently and I got to thinking what the plots of some episodes would be if the show was contemporary to the 2010s/2020s. One I came up with was "the text good night:" Jerry's girlfriend texts him "good night" and Jerry doesn't respond. Now his girlfriend is angry and Jerry goes on a rant about texting good night to someone shouldn't be mandatory. George breaks down how it happened and later Elain does the same thing to her boyfriend.

It's kind of funny that I've seen people say, "You couldn't make this show today" when quite a lot of it feels as applicable now as ever. Honestly, short of maybe something like the Japanese people choosing to stay over at Kramer's house, I can't think of anything off of the top of my head they'd get much pushback on, and even that, it's been long enough since I've seen the episode to where I can't really weigh in on if that was a bit much.
Anyway, on-topic, Newman would 100% get into NFTs, and talk George into it.

Do they still show the Puerto Rican Day episode or was that pulled from syndication?

Kramer tries to do a one-man show only to repeatedly scream a racial slur after being heckled too many times...

George and/or Kramer accidently texts a picture of their penis to a 17-year-old, and become social pariahs to the point they have to flee the country for a couple episodes.

Elaine goes viral on tiktok after someone records her dancing.
A huge misunderstanding after George accidentally types 0 as his tip when ordering Ubereats, he finds the driver and explains it was predictive text.
Kramer becomes one of the best Fortnite players in the world. He goes to a gaming tournament where he competes against 12 year olds.

I think the main reason "it couldn't be done" is not like society is too different or that Xyz would complain... it's more that so many shows took the basis of what Seinfeld did and expanded upon it that at lot of it feels like an old hat to people.

It'd probably still resonate with people who felt Always Sunny was a bridge too far, but yeah, obviously that's only one example of a number of shows that openly took cues from Seinfeld.

Kramer becomes a Twitter meme and George gets jealous, eventually trying to go "viral" himself. It backfires when he is recorded arguing with someone on the subway and becomes a popular video on public freak out compilations.
Instead of "he took it out", Elaine gets an unsolicited dick pic. She and Puddy also break up one time when he likes and doesn't heart react to her Facebook posts.
Jerry and his latest girlfriend start watching Stranger Things together and he ends up watching the next episode when she isn't around. So Jerry has to keep up the charade that he did not continue without her. Newman finds this out and tries to blackmail him. Hilarity ensues.

"She thinks we're trangender, Jerry!!!" "Not there's anything wrong with that." "No. Not at all."
"The Contest" would be over how long the gang can stay off social media.
Kramer becomes involved with Qanon and Newman tries to abduct him for deprogramming

Jerry: Why would you not wear a mask? George: It was an outside event, when you're outside masks aren't required. *beat* They're recommended, but they're not required. Jerry: If it's a garden party underneath tents, it's still inside. George: How? You don't wipe your feet when you're there. If you don't wipe your feet, it's not inside. Jerry: It's imitation inside; it's like artificial leather, you're supposed to treat it the same. George: You know, if they were so concerned about everybody's health than they shouldn't have been so stingy with the hand sanitizer. Jerry: What do you mean? George: Well, one of the people there was giving me the stink eye for getting too many dollops. Who's arbitrarily deciding that this guy has had enough dollops? Jerry: If I were looking at you, I'd say you can never have enough. George: *slaps couch* Thank you. Why can't more people understand that? *Kramer bursts in* Kramer: Hey, I need your old bike. Jerry: Why? Kramer: You know my friend Bob Saccamoto? He's making a killing delivering cocktails to everybody who can't get to bars. I gotta get in that now, Jerry. The market's knocking hard and I gotta answer! George: Is he not worried about catching something? Jerry: *sips coffee* I don't think the virus wants to get anywhere near him.

Eliane: Oh hey, tbe new Law and Order is on tonight.
Jerry: Why do they keep brining old shows back years after they had anything new to say? Are they that desperate for views they have to milk people's nostalgia that much?

Jerryt's girlfriend spoils a movie that had been out for a month so he dumps her, leading to a debate on etiquette and the correct length of time on when you can talk about things.

Kramer becomes an influencer and ends up with 500,000 followers. The gang finds that they can’t get into any of their favorite restaurants because they all now have lines out the door. While waiting for a table at Monk’s, George and Elaine are overheard talking about how Kramer used to be friends with the Soup Nazi. The internet calls him a Nazi sympathizer and Kramer loses everything.
