*ahem* It gets better...there was a one-shot done by The Electric Company, with Morgan Freeman as the umpire: Still think that should have been a crossover with Kool-Aid Man. The Kool-Aid Man would've certainly crossover'd him. Ayyyyyyyyy.

I still say Abominatrix is the dumbest. Because she was in an experiment trying to treat PMS with Gamma Radiation.
Even by Marvel Universe Science standards how does THAT make any sense?! Hulk, and this cousin were a thing for years by that point in the timeline.

Wally West inexplicably gets super powers in the exact same way as Barry Allen. Various writers have tried to explain it wasn't a coincidence but the reason why is inconsistent as hell. Honourable mention: Kyle Rayner gets to be the new Green Lantern because Ganthet just crashed on earth and his choice was between Kyle and some drunk guy. I'll argue against Kyle Rayner's being a dumb origin here, because it worked perfectly for the moment it took place in. Hal had just destroyed the entirety of the Lanterns, and as the Green Lanterns are chosen from the most fearless of any planet, it spoke to how desperate the situation was to pick a random human. I actually liked at the time that he was just kind of a screwup kid with a big imagination, and he had to learn to be a hero rather than already being one in the first place.

Yeah I can agree to that. Hadn't thought of it that way. FWIW Wally is my favorite superhero and Kyle is my favorite GL

I got the idea for this thread from the She-Hulk villain Abominatrix. Imagine having to go "I got turned into a monster testing a cure of PMS that didn't even work and just made it permanent." Takes me back to law school with reading old cases with words like “testatrix”, “executrix”, and “administratrix” Luckily this has fallen wayyy out of favor over the years

The Villain from Incredibles 2 had an origin that relied on someone being so stupid that their death almost qualifies as suicide, or, at the very least, a Darwin Award winner. And then said villain takes the absolute worst lesson from it possible.
