I'm not going to hammer on him. The man has mental issues and needs help. I know that has become a catchall for when a guy screws up, one I can't stand honestly, but his past year alone has shown he needs help. A guy like him has had every chance in the world to "get help", this is just him. There isn't a medication or therapy in the world that can stop a guy from being a bad person You can have every chance in the world but you have to accept and be in a place to work for it, given his last year, is hard to say he is in or has been in that spot. There are bad people no doubt, as I said the, "mental illness" excuse is one I can't stand to hear as it's so over used and abused. Is he a piece of shit, maybe, dude has done a lot of shitty things no doubt, but he also comes across as a guy that has a host of issues and needs help with those. I just look at myself and how bad I've been in the last year and know I don't want to be thrown away as a bad person because the help I'm getting isn't working. It's hard enough to not give up on yourself but to see your world cave in and know it's at your own hands makes it so much harder without a group of people doing the same. And I'm not saying anyone is wrong for having that opinion, thinking he's a complete f*** up and a bad dude. Most, of any of us, don't know these people outside of what is made public and for him it hasn't been good. He just hasn't crossed my line of irredeemable yet.

It's also worth noting that the guy's a father, and as much of a shitbag as he's been, he's still got friends and family. You can want someone to get their act together for more than the benefit of just that specific person.

The price for whey protein powder exploded, I've seen many gym bros being furious enough about it to either "never buy it again" or indeed plan to steal it. Seems to be a fitting crime for Elgin.

Holy f*** dude. This is poorly thought out to say the very least. And this dude had a lot of potential at some point it seemed. I remember it being shocking when Cole got the title before him, at least it was for someone who was just getting back into watching

This is also a dude who was basically NJPW's top face gaijin, too, and wouldn't have even been out of the realm of possibility to win the world title eventually if he had kept his head on straight.

The guy was one half of the tag champs, and probably in line for a big N-1 run for a company that is throwing anything at the wall foreigner wise (I’m sure he helped get Anthony Greene & Stallion Rogers over there this last tour). He seemed set to be a key player for NOAH, now who knows.

It's a stupid thing to do and I'm no fan of his but it always boggles my mind to see how harshly other countries punish people for such petty crimes. He stole protein powder. He doesn't need to be in a jail cell or potentially serve five years in prison. That's ridiculous. There's a reason that Japan has like, zero crime. It's a combination of an honor-based society, and harsh penalties for doing dumb shit. It's almost like actually punishing people works...

Dude's career is tanked barring a random CYN appearance...

So... what did happen then? Is there any clarification from any other sources? I think he's lying lol. Man missed shows from last week and is only now making a flight because of a death in the family? Not to mention he was active on Twitter until the 5th of July and now randomly drops a statement.

Protein powder is really expensive in Japan, but like just use a credit card. The yen is super weak against many western currencies right now, dude.

The penalty for petty theft here isn’t years in jail. It’s usually a fine and/or probation. Japan does not have “like, zero crime” and the low-ish crime rate has nothing to do with being “an honor-based society”. And I’m not even sure what that even means. However, people here on working visas can have those visas voided because of any number of reasons. When that happens, they are often given the choice to leave the country voluntarily without being subject to criminal penalties and/or deportation. Cheers
