Shoutouts to when Low-Ki derailed a whole match over Mania weekend for like 7+ minutes because he was next level butthurt over a fan yelling "get vaccinated" and The Briscoes treated said fan like an honorary Briscoe for the whole match The Briscoes being pro-vax and LGBTQ+ Supportive in 2022 might be the most hilarious yet welcomed thing to happen in wrestling lately tbh. Yeah, I wasn't high on them for awhile but with it coming out how they've been smartened up on certain issues, I'm a lot more inclined to tolerate them. Should be a great match Saturday

The Briscoes being pro-vax and LGBTQ+ Supportive in 2022 might be the most hilarious yet welcomed thing to happen in wrestling lately tbh. Can I ask for the evidence that they're LGBT supportive now? Aware of their controversial past, Pollo pointed out her personal experiences with the Briscoes had all been positive, and believes the photo shows three people who’s past beliefs do not represent who they are today. “It seems my photo with Dem Boys from the NWA TV tapings has taken on a life of its own on social media and sparked plenty of conversation,” Del Mar said. “I’m very aware of the The Briscoes’ controversial past, and I spoke up about it at the time it first occurred. Their past comments created hurt and distress for the community I love and so openly and vocally advocate for and am a part. “I do not speak for Mark and Jay, their past, or the painful lessons I suspect it created for so many on all sides. I certainly do not tell anyone what they should think or how they should feel. Everyone deserves the chance to heal, grow and forgive at their own pace and discretion. I speak exclusively to my own experiences, perceptions and feelings and, thusly, did not share the picture for any ‘political’ purposes. I posted, as I frequently do photos with colleagues, friends, and acquaintances in pro wrestling, to share my memories and fun times with those who love and support my journey. “That said, Mark and Jay have never treated me with anything but respect and kindness, as an equal and, to be honest, someone they seem to enjoy seeing in the locker room. This alone is the basis of my personal feelings toward Dem Boyz. We have laughed together and talked rather extensively about important topics, like growing up, changing and seeing how our past actions have sometimes senselessly hurt others. “It is my personal belief that, if I ever want others to forgive my own wrong-doings and trespasses against others, to recognize my growth and how shortcomings yesterday make me stronger today, and I promise there have been MANY on my side, I have to offer others the same. People can interpret the photo however they choose, but I see it as three people who love professional wrestling, who work their asses off to entertain audiences, and who deserve a chance to show beliefs of yesterday should not necessarily define the opportunities of tomorrow. ” www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2022/03/top-independent-pro-wrestling-drag-queen-comments-on-viral-photo-with-the-briscoes/Also Ian Riccaboni has gone on record saying that they've really changed. I'm not expecting everyone to give them a second chance nor would I expect those hurt by Jay's asinine hateful comment to ever forgive them, but (to me) they've really grown up.

Effy has also said that he spent time with them and wouldn't have booked them if they held any hater in their hearts. All that said time for Chicken to get that TV Title so he can sit with Big Murph as the champion of TV!

If they have grown and educated themselves, that's fantastic, but let's see them help finance (or even, as the big tough boys, do security for) a Drag Queen Story Time or something, put their money where their mouth is. Let's see if the guy who said "try and teach my kids that there's nothing wrong with that and I'll ****ing shoot you" can do something to help the people who are facing that attitude today.

I mean I'm sure that's on the table given their recent comments, but them even realizing their comments were wrong and even taking a stance in faith about it in that's now what God would want, to me is a massive flip on how these guys used to be Compared to other wrestlers who double down or make things worse, I'm just glad to see there are some open and willing to learn from mistakes, and I'm glad to see Jay realizes what he said was disgusting. The imagery of The Briscoes flanking a drag queen for a storytime however, is an amazing image and I welcome it into our lives.

All due respect, can we really not just be happy that they seem to be trying to be better and putting action behind that? Because this comment sounds a lot like gatekeeping redemption or something.

I think Gwen's point here is that words are wind considering the severity of Jay's comments and that some concrete action would probably be necessary for her to forgive. I don't think she's saying that noone else is allowed to forgive them based on what we have so far, just that for her, its not enough. For me, I need to see a little more from them to buy it as well, so I'm on the same page as Gwen. Also are they still wearing Confederate flags on their gear lol?

I also think we should take into consideration how they ask LGTBQ+ wrestlers things and in their own words are kind and supportive of them, which does make it more than words, or they'd say something about it and it would come off hollow, but multiple queer people in the business now have said things, including EFFY, about the Briscoes being willing to learn and supportive. I do understand Gwen's point, but I think the Briscoes at least far as I'm hearing, are going a bit further than just making a statement. On the Confederate Flag gear, they used to, but no, they haven't done the confederate flag in a long time, this is more their gear now:

I’ve always held the Briscoe “characters” (how much is shoot and how much is Kayfabe on that front is forever a grey area) in the upper echelon of my favorites because I’ve personally known people like them and Jay looks an awful lot like a close friend of mine who died from brain cancer about 12 years ago (more so when he had the shaved head…but still.)
And going down YouTube rabbit holes of their on the farm promos was always entertaining as hell.
All of that said….I’m glad they seem to have gotten smart on some things and seem to genuinely want to be better on that front. Effy vouching for them in that regard speaks loudly IMO.
Anyway, I’m stoked they’re in the new ROH and genuinely can’t wait for them to hopefully get involved eventually in some AEW stuff

The reason I give that as an example is that it's an action that'd show the absolute antithesis of their old viewpoint. Because honestly it's hard to tell whether they've had a remarkable 180 degree transformation or just got tired of losing big opportunities by being openly bigoted. If that's 'gatekeeping redemption' then so be it, we have to deal with being called shit like groomers on a daily basis and the Briscoes were doing homophobic stuff on shows as late as 2018, so if they wanna step up to the plate and stand in our corner then good on them but I'll believe it when I see it. {Spoiler}Also I love the idea that Effy trusting them is a good sign when he's apparently perfectly comfortable in the GCW locker room. Dude is not a good judge of character.

could Tony somehow force them to explain on TV that Delaware was part of the Union In fairness, they're from the part of Delaware that likely believed otherwise. >_>

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Also I love the idea that Effy trusting them is a good sign when he's apparently perfectly comfortable in the GCW locker room. Dude is not a good judge of character. "This one gay person approves of them" is generally a pretty bad line of logic even if the person does have a history of good judgement. Bigots picking certain members of the group they're bigoted against to treat as "one of the good ones" because that happen to be a part of their life is pretty common. Then they use those "good ones" as a shield against accusations of bigotry, and its not at ALL uncommon for those "good ones", happy at the way they're being treated, to validate that. As far as we the fans know, Effy could very much just have been accepted as "one of the boys" as far as the Briscoes are concerned, such that they treat him well enough that he thinks differently of them. This is why words are wind and actions mean more, and why you suggestion of how they can show they've changed their tune is a good one.

Fightful select says Tony Khan also acknowledged more people are signed to full time ROH deals the public doesn't know yet, Briscoes are the most notable.
