I’d imagine the creative stays the same. Vince goes from the most powerful person in charge of WWE to now having a boss. Dana White has that same boss and seems to be able to do whatever he wants without much of any serious consequence. Ari Emanuel seems pretty hands-off in terms of day-to-day operations. He would've been an ideal boss with the WWE corporate structure before McMahon forced himself back into the company. But Vince being Vince, that introduces a lot more questions.
I guess a lot of it depends on the particulars of McMahon's new job title. Will he be allowed to basically run WWE/UFC as its own little corporate fiefdom or will he have to delegate to Nick Khan and Dana White and he just handles things at the top? Will he leave enough alone or just go into full micromanage mode?

I'm reading it like Ari Emanuel oversees everything. Vince will oversee the entirety of the WWE with Nick Khan as a de facto GM type. Dana and his crew will still oversee the UFC. Basically I think that if Vince wants to take back over creative he'll encounter little resistance. We'll find out soon though.

I freaking said Vince would suffer no consequences, and would fail upwards like always.
People were like "but the legal system...." nah, not for rich white men. "But Karma..." naw, that was bought off a long time ago.
And now this? f***s sake.
The fact we all have to say "At least it's not the Saudi's" while true, is very very telling.

Assuming they don't make a big song and dance of the announcement during Wrestlemania, the timing of his is quite dubious and a distraction to the biggest show of the year. Did someone leak the news?

Of course The E got the best possible outcome.
Fun to poke fun while it lasted. 363 not a bad length for a thread.

Well on the plus side, this isn't The Saudi's, like... that's the big positive The big negatives? Mergers usually mean a bunch of people are going to get fired Vince McMahon got rewarded for being a sexual predator in the end Dan White got rewarded for being abusive towards his wife among other shit A bunch of terrible, terrible people are getting billions of dollars in this deal and who knows how people like HHH are gonna shake out in this... in the end, what everyone wanted was for Vince to sell the company and f*** off, that literally sounded like the only reason some people were sticking around, that he'd eventually leave... now he's got the second most powerful position between two companies set to merge, and who knows will be left out in the dust The landscape of wrestling and combat sports is gonna change as we know it soon, this might be the last WrestleMania and RAW as we know it... I don't have the greatest feelings about it right now but... he'll see Given the trend. 3m+ ratings prob higher on the reg.

Something that does have me wondering is this though; Endeavor burnt that bridge with Saudi Arabia following the murder of Kashioggi, can they really go back to business as usual with the KSA if they purchase the WWE? A lot of the stock value in the WWE is taking into account the hundreds of millions a year they take in from the Saudi events. UFC's been doing events in Saudi Arabia since the pandemic ended. Granted, I'm not sure if they're in direct business with the regime or not. But it does look like a "let's pretend to care for a bit then when the heat dies down, we get right back into bed with them" thing. They've been running events in Abu Dhabi, not Saudi Arabia. (Yet.)

so everything about tonight's show felt like a Vince show to me... just saying Nah, I don’t think that he was 100% running it tonight. I think that it was a weaker card overall and then there were some unfortunate injuries throughout and the main event deflated a lot of people. I could be wrong of course on that. I 100% suspect he’ll be running TV by SD at the latest and maybe Raw tomorrow though.

Tonight just screamed that Vince McMahon’s ancient ass is back in charge. Absolute garbage booking tonight.

I'd say Vince would be given the fiefdom of WWE, and he'd be able to do whatever just like Dana White can with the UFC.

When I first saw this I immediately thought of this ultra-creepy Russian studio logo. Its music popped into my head immediately after seeing this.

Hi, I am sorry if this has been mentioned on the last pages hundreds of times so feel free to direct me to a page where that topic is already discussed...
I am worried about this comment Scott Keith made when he reported the news:
"Say goodbye to Peacock and the Network if this one turns out to be true"
As a non-US citizen I do not care about Peacock but why would this sale spell the end of the WWE Network?

Possibly, but I think this comment relates more to the potential return of full price PPVs than anything else. I don’t know the media rights details in Germany, but all these are in constant flux anyway. It depends on what they feel that back catalogue is worth. It might end up like what happened with Peacock in the US and Binge here in Australia where the back catalogue is on a new service, or the Network stays on but loses the live PPVs, or it might not be on there at all, I don’t know.

I think we don’t know for sure for now, but the idea would be that the Network would end up being put on a different service instead of its own thing as has happened in other countries. I’ll use the UK/Ireland as an example; Peacock is a Sky box exclusive for now rather than a separate app mostly because Sky is owned by Comcast but in theory, the WWE Network could be sold to BSkyB in the future and attached with Peacock to make sales of Sky boxes go up because people would be getting it for WWE. The only problem with that theory, to me, is that Sky and WWE did not leave their former relationship in the best of terms and WWE themselves are with BT Sports (soon to be hilariously known as TNT Sports) so there are hoops to jump through but not unreachable.

Honestly Endeavor would be incredibly stupid to try and change the model WWE has right now with PPVs because there's absolutely no way they'd make up the difference just looking at audience engagement. Looking back at 2013, the last year pre-Network, most non-big four PPVs were doing about 180,000 buys, some much higher, some much lower. Assuming $80 a pop and that they keep every cent of that is pure profit for them instead of having to be paid for hosting and the like, that'd only be bringing them about $172.8 million per year, and realistically the buys would most likely be vastly lower because WWE's viewing audience week to week is far smaller than it was then and WWE's spent the past decade making their PPVs primarily sold around how cheap and accessible they are. Either way there's absolutely no goddamn way it's matching the $200 million a year Peacock's giving them now.
It's far more likely they'd completely cannibalize the value of the network, since their retro content has never been the draw for most people in the first place, than that they'd see some massive explosion in funds from the higher pricing. Even assuming
