Well I really never expected this to happen. I see that Kevin dunn and Prichard are in charge of smack down tonight which kind of dents the big news because hopefully they are next to be told to take their shares in wwe and f*** off to wherever they live and stay there.

So he’s stepping down from his positions as Chairman and CEO. I wonder if he’s still the head of creative, though? Alvarez and PWInsider are saying its retirement from EVERYTHING. That Vince sent out a message to all talents saying he is done working in WWE entirely and will just be watching the show like a normal fan now. It wouldn't make sense to retire and still retain control, especially in this case when he is clearly running away from a looming wildfire WSJ probably has ready to post.

The effects might not be felt right now but their will be a lot of turnover from this in the years to come

The man put out a public statement announcing his official retirement.
If that in anyways is anything other than...I am done with the company it is just gonna be more bullshit ontop of everything already collapsing in on him and the last thing he needs is to basically lie to everyone including stockholders about this.
Retirement to me is exactly that you have handed over the reigns (not Roman of course he keeps him) and have no say in running the company in any way etc.

So when the guys doing the WSJ story went on a radio interview, they were surprised that the fact Vince was still writing the shows and very clearly not actually stepped down was weird and the fact it was getting like zero further attention was extra weird. I wonder if the lack of mention of creative was then a way to kind of keep that bit under the radar. Nobody actually cares who's writing the show, so his statement focuses on the positions that people will really care about because that's bigger news.

Has me excited to see what happens now with Steph/Hunter actually in charge. I imagine there will be a lot of changes happening after Summerslam creatively and in hiring. Prichard and Dunn might want to start planning their next jobs.

The name on the contract reads “Khan”...
Serious question though: is he retiring from creative too?

The future's bright for WWE.
The chances of the Garganos, Sasha, and Naomi returning have all shot up. The chances of Io staying have shot up. Shit, Twitch may be back on the menu!
Wait, did I say the future's bright for WWE? The future's bright for all of wrestling. A rising tide lifts all boats. Also, I think Triple H will be more open to working with other promotions than Vince.

Vince McMahon when he finally sits down in front of a normal television on his couch to watch an episode of Raw with no need to be micromanaging everything: Holy shit this past hour has been f***ing unwatchable. Is this what it's really been like?

The year is 2005, Royal Rumble... Cena and Batista are the last two, they go over, they hit at the same time. ...Obviously, OBVIOUSLY not the plan, everyone's out there trying to make sense of it... then here you come, fuming mad, the jacket's thrown down, you hit the ring, and pow... there go both your quads at the same time. Vince, talk us through that..."

The real bump for "maybe WWE will be more watchable" isn't even creative; it's the possibility Kevin Dunn gets banished to the shadow realm. Dunn's gonna be sent home, but still on the payroll.
