I know golf and wrestling are two very different things and have very different audiences, but I think the ratings can be kind of a sign to see how many people are willing to watch their favorite golfers play while they are getting paid in blood money

if it tanks in the ratings maybe WWE and other companies will think twice about selling/making a tv deal with the propaganda machine

With a lot of the top talent in the world not really being there because they can’t do PGA events and get that exposure.

Golf is also a wealthy person's sport.  I'd imagine most of the people good enough to play it at the professional level have the education to realize that getting in bed with the Saudis may not be a great idea.

Education has nothing to do with it as even ''lame man'' would know about Saudi.  Greed is more likely to be the determining factor.

WWE Inc. investors leading litigation over chairman Vince McMahon’s surprise return are fighting over the path forward, after McMahon rescinded certain bylaw changes that would have seized power from the company’s board.

The dispute involves three groups of shareholders that sued McMahon this month—including a pension fund—after he ended his self-imposed exile, which began when he stepped down in July while facing a wave of sexual harassment and hush money allegations stretching back more than 15 years.

The lawsuits in Delaware’s Chancery Court accused McMahon of timing his comeback to seize control of upcoming negotiations over the WWE’s expiring media rights and forcing his way back by leveraging a threat to withhold support for any deal reached without his participation.

The move reinstalled McMahon as the head of a WWE royal family that includes his daughter, Stephanie—who stepped down as chairman and co-CEO in early January—and son-in-law, the former champion wrestler Paul “Triple H” Levesque, a member of the board.

Two of the investors suing McMahon, including the Police & Fire Retirement System of the City of Detroit, narrowly challenged solely his unilateral move to rewrite the WWE’s bylaws in his own favor. A third shareholder brought broader claims directly involving the sexual harassment accusations.

McMahon and the WWE haven’t yet made a court appearance, but a Jan. 17 securities filing showed that McMahon had repealed the most contentious changes, restoring power to the board. The filing prompted the current dispute among the shareholders.

In one corner, the pension fund and another investor are seeking to have the bylaw-related claims declared moot so they can take credit for the reforms and seek a “mootness fee” in recognition of their role in forcing McMahon to curtail his ambitions.

“This consolidated litigation is narrow in scope, it is moot, and the only remaining litigation in this action should concern the application for a fee award,” they said in a court filing Monday.

The other group of investors, meanwhile—those suing over McMahon’s alleged history of paying to cover up sexual harassment accusations—are seeking to sever their case from the consolidated action. That could keep the bylaw-related claims alive, interfering with any fee request.

The pension fund and its co-plaintiff, investor Scott Fellows, are represented by Labaton Sucharow LLP, Friedlander & Gorris PA, Friedman Oster & Tejtel PLLC, and Kaskela Law PLLC.

The investors seeking to proceed separately, Carole Casale and Chrystal Lavalle, are represented by Christensen & Dougherty LLP and Scott & Scott Attorneys at Law LLP.

The case is In re World Wrestling Ent. Inc. Stockholders Litig., Del. Ch., No. 2023-0022, motion to dismiss as moot filed 1/23/23.

There were three actions filed that were consolidated together. Two of the actions were only about the changing of the bylaws and since Vince subsequently changed the bylaws back, they are saying the case is moot and they should just be awarded fees.

The third action is a broader claim than just the bylaws claim and so they are now seeking to separate their claim/action from the other two so that they can continue litigating the case.

The guys who left for LIV are almost all "heels" and come from wealthier backgrounds than the guys who have vocally backed the PGA, funny enough. The LIV guys are either deep in debt, openly don't love the sport of golf, are known douchebags, with only 2 guys coming to mind that were well-liked and didn't come from wealth. It was pure greed because they were getting massive guarantees and perks with less work. But that all relies on the Saudi Fund continuing to burn money on it.

So Comcast had their earnings report today and whilst they didn't mention the WWE rumors by name, they did imply that they're "always looking for bolt on acquisitions" and, well...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they're talking about.

PWInsider notes that Vince McMahon was spotted this week at WWE HQ in Stamford, CT, indicating that he’s back in his old office.

There have been rumors of Vince working out in the Titan Tower gym going back to his retirement in the summer, but this is the first confirmed sighting of McMahon back to work.

It was reported earlier this month, right after McMahon’s return to the company, how unconfirmed rumors had him “already sending word to some departments to say” they were doings things wrong. Those appear to be just rumors as they have not been confirmed by multiple sources since then.

There’s been no update on Vince possibly returning to WWE creative, which is still led by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. At last word, Vince had not attended any WWE TV tapings since his comeback, including the RAW 30 taping. The latest word from within the company also said WWE CEO Nick Khan is the man running the company, and that he is making all final decisions. Vince, as Chairman in an official capacity, is only working on selling the company and media rights deals, with the current RAW and SmackDown TV deals expiring at the end of September 2024.
