Looks like they are gonna do Chadwick's legacy right.
And it took forever but Namor is finally part of.... anything Marvel that isn't Ultimate Alliance

The trailer matched-up well with the (super lackluster) leaks from a while ago, but the trailer itself was very well done. Curious how the film overall will feel.

Pretty vague, I get they want the audience to 'feel' Chadwick's loss, but I got enough closure on that with his What If appearances.

I openly admit that I cried watching it and feel no shame in doing so

More like they want to give him a proper goodbye and honor his memory That's exactly what I gathered from the trailer. In all the "Recast T'Challa" talk and universe (now multiverse) mapping, it's easy to overlook the fact that the Black Panther team didn't just lose the star of their franchise, they lost a friend and colleague. I feel like this movie is Ryan's way of saying goodbye and paying his last respects, not unlike any of a dozen memorial tribute episodes of any television show. RAW is Chadwick, why not? I take it as a point of pride that, while I have come close with a handful of tearjerkers, I have only actually shed tears on one movie: Soul Food. If this one is number two, I will be perfectly fine with that.

If this one is number two, I will be perfectly fine with that. Exactly. It is a celebration of life for Chadwick/T'Challa and one that his legacy will forever live on in movie and in real life. I get why they don't want to recast T'Challa and I am fine with it. It's the Black Panther mantle that will matter the most more than the character and he gave a whole generation a hero as Black Panther. Heavy will be the head that wears that crown It is without question going to be an emotional movie. Best believe people will show up and show out for that movie

I like that the MCU Atlantis will have a Mesoamerican feel to it. Makes it stick out compared to the DC Atlantis. Tenoch Huerta (who is of Aztec descent) even learned the Mayan language for the role. That's pretty cool.

I hated his sister in the first movie. Hopefully she'll be toned down or marginalised.

Trailer's kind of hard to gauge. Honestly think this movie's kind of a hard sell for me anyway, liked the first movie a lot but this one (understandably, obviously) not having either of the main two people I thought carried it is a pretty big strike on it. Probably will see it but it'll likely be a wait for Disney+ one.

BP felt like a special movie until it got all generic comic-book-y. This trailer makes the film look like an emotional powerhouse. Coogler is damn good. And I hope they gave him a little more freedom this time.
The namor stuff looks beautiful too.

It'd be cool if they unmask Black Panther this movie, and it's Wesley Snipes.

So... who's supposed to be BP? And will they explain Chadwicks passing? According to a plot leak from a few weeks back, which has since been largely backed up by the trailer... {Spoiler}it's explained that T'Challa died of an illness shortly after Endgame, and Shuri becomes Black Panther in the film's finale, serving under King M'Baku.

That's pretty cool. I love the change. It was probably stemmed from them not wanting to look like a ripoff of Aquaman s Atlantis. Despite Namor existing longer I think Namor came first. First Marvel comics "superhero" . Technically Human Torch came first in the issue they both debuted in but Namor had been published in an ashcan copy before that. In the original issue Atlantis was located near Antartica. Made sense for why no one had every come upon them. But I like the Mesoamerican look as well. We dont see enough of that in sci fi/fantasy fiction. Edit. Heck Marvel had another water based hero, The Fin debut before Aquaman. Also Aquamans Golden Age origin had no Atlanteans. His scientist father raised him in an underwater habitat in the ruins of Atlantis, but there were no Atlanteans. And his abilities came from science, not being a half breed.
