The Big Two Doritos Flavors: Choose Your Side

They weren't the original flavors, but they became the two most prominent (at least in the States) Doritos flavors.

In the red corner:

(Also known as Cool Original or Cool American depending on the region).

Yes, there are others (including the Taco flavor, which was the second Dorito flavor after the plain corn one), but these are the ones that seem to be the most featured wherever I go. So...pick your flavor.

I voted for Cool Ranch because not only do I thin it's superior to Nacho Cheese, but I think it's the best Doritos flavor ever.

Nacho Cheese, and it isn't close. I'd vote for the less popular but still widespread choices of Sweet Chili, Blazin Hot, Buffalo, or Salsa Verde over Cool Ranch, too. I saw fish flavored Doritos in China. I didn't try them, and they sound disgusting, but they probably taste better than Cool Ranch.

Yep. Those were the original from what I looked up. People complained there wasn't enough spice or flavor, and then the Taco flavored ones came out (hence why they still have the retro bag style, I'd venture to guess).

Nacho Cheese.... I wish they would bring back the Pepper Jack flavor though. That was my favorite of all the flavors.

Between the two, Cool Ranch. Though my top Doritos flavor is Spicy Sweet Chili. Also I just found a brand new flavor in stores yesterday called Tangy Tamarino which is surprisingly good.

Having tried them when I spent 6 weeks in Folsom a few years ago, I'm still annoyed we don't have Salsa Verde Doritos in Ireland.

I really miss these.

That said, I can eat both Nacho and Ranch. Unfortunately for Ranch, Frito Lay will occasionally go on a spree where they under season their chips, therefore making the Ranch chips very underwhelming to eat. Nacho never has that problem.

Oh, and a little thing I tend to do whenever I eat chips, I try to make sure that the last chip I eat before I stop, is a chip that has a ton of seasoning on it, because no one wants to be disappointed by their last chip.
