They're very hammy and cartoonish by WWE standards. Because when I think of Hulk Hogan, John Cena and The Rock, I think calm, subtle and sophisticated. Cena and Rock weren't nearly as over-the-top as 2.0. Can you see either of them carrying around a switchblade comb or talking about how hard their nipples are? They were more cool and not the butt of the joke

This is the guy that would look down and say "Eaaaasy big fella!" when being interviewed by a woman.

Dude went around a college campus once preaching abstinence and rode a tiny scooter and still was taken seriously enough to be their world champion.

Personally I think he's gained a ton of personality both outside and inside of the ring since joining JAS. It's 90% the kangol hat. I'm trying to find a flaw in this theory, but I really can't.

I feel bad for people who think Garcia is boring, because I think he's going to be on TV a lot in the next couple decades.
Him, Yuta, Dante Martin, and Hook are like, the future's future right now.

I noticed it today with Anna Jay. You have a young talent you really like but they need to work on their promos and emoting? Stick them with 2.0 and Chris Jericho. And honestly, Garcia really has developed a lot since JAS formed It’s actually a brilliant strategy, because if shit ever gets messed up any of those 3 can immediately step in and save them. It basically gives Garcia and Anna Jay a safety net which should help their mic skills develop and step outside their comfort zone knowing they aren’t gonna tank a segment if they stumble It's something AEW has done a lot in their existence. Would Sammy have grown as he did without Jericho? Darby without Sting? Even Jungle Boy with Christian?

One thing I love about Garcia is how he's not treating this like he's the reluctant, ill-fitting goon who doesn't really want to be there. THis is just Garcia. It's a good move. Shinsuke Nakamura was a boring straight shooter once upon a time and then he became Shinsuke Nakamura. And I'm not saying Garcia will ever be the charisma powerhouse of Nakamura because very few men ever will be, but he's on that similar kind of path. And like yeah if your bar for interesting is 'a wrestling firefighter' then he's never going to live up to that, but that's writing off a guy who is getting really confident with character work and with being more than just the scowling wrestleboy who who fights the fights 2.0 get him into.

2.0 are not entertaining either. And that is just entirely a falsehood.

Keith was someone I'd sort of put more in the latter list than the former. Like, yeah, he was injured the first period of his run but it wasn't until Vince pushed him at Survivor Series 2019 that coincidentally, HHH decided that he should be pushed in NXT too. Which makes what happens after that mindboggling but still. Yeah was gonna say Keith really didn't start getting a push till Vince saw him at Survivor Series and supposedly mandated they get him ready. But even wrestlers who like Triple H and are again making names for themselves on the indies like Alex Zayne, Blake Christian, or even going back to Juice Robinson and Sami Callihan. The general feeling they got was they were hired because they had some buzz not necessarily because WWE wanted them... and that kind of ramped up when AEW was announced. The story of 2.0 becoming Ever Rise is hilarious. Wasn't even a name pitched and when they were told the name and asked why they said it was caus Triple H said that's the name he would have come up with for a banf it wasn't Triple H it was one of the producers I believe. Triple H sent out a notice saying the every team needs a name (probably for shirt purposes) for the launch on USA. But yeah, they wanted to be like True North, but they couldn't because legal said no for some reason. then the Producer just said they had it and named them EverRise... because it was the band they always wanted to make.

The Rocks mains stick:
An overly exagerated eyebrow raise
An excessive amount of theatrics elbow drop
And yelling as loud as possible IF YOU SMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLL
Safe to say he was over the top.

That might be on the top 3 worst reasons to name a tag team.

If he doesn't get reps at trying to be entertaining and just relies on what he can already do well, then there is no growth. Put him with Jericho, give him mic time, give him his reps, and he will improve in this area!
It's like Jade Cargill. She needs reps in the ring, and I think she personally needs to have at least 4 matches a week and needs to wrestle more often to get better, quicker. She's still only had 36 matches in her entire career. Reps!

I've never seen Garcia work in the indies, so I just saw him as technically sound wrestling guy. Impressively so for someone so young, but he was just another guy to me.
Being in JAS has helped him find some confidence on the bigger stage. it shows in his ring work and his presence. That video of him dancing was pretty great too.
