Scratch offs are a birthday and holiday gift institution in my family. I think the most I have ever won was 50 or so My grandma seemed to have a lot of luck with them and got one or two 1000 or so tickets But I haaaaaaaate casinos and find them intensely uncomfortable. My wife and I ended up at one as part of a Mississippi River cruise (overnight stay in Dubuque I think?) and I played slots once, won a dollar, and said “Alright I’m ahead, let’s go.” I hate casinos for many reasons, the crowds, the noise and if they don't have a good filtration system the smoke. Last time I went to one we were on vacation up in Memphis. She saw a new casino had opened up in West Memphis Arkansas. Told her that it wasn't a town I rather goto. Got told to not worry. We go get the players cards. Were given like 50 bucks each free play. I sit down and since I wasn't driving that day got a waiterss to come over. Ordered a drink get told "$5". Yep this casino charged for drinks even if you were gambling...... I played out my free play found her and we left soon. Ended up playing mini golf and racing go carts somewhere outside Memphis.

I won $900 on a $1 scratch-off. Which was the top prize that particular ticket offered. But I’ve never one anything from an actual drawing.

I won $200 off a slot machine in Atlantic City and $950 in a football pool at work. My only winnings.
A guy I used to work with bought scratchers every day, win $120,000 once.

I’ve won $1500 on a pull tab. Only a couple hundred on lottery tickets, and I think $75 was my biggest win on a scratch ticket.
My grandfather won a 3 Million jackpot lottery when I was a kid. Here’s hoping I follow in those footsteps one day!

I've won $500 on a scratch off. And I've had a string of good wins, a $100 here and $200 there in less than two weeks. Both sessions where I either won more than I played or won double back.
I've lost a lot, and broke even a lot. But it's more like making up for what I have lost in total when you finally start to win some decent money.
I've won $800 in a football pool where the entry was $100.

Best I've done is $25 on a scratch off.

My dad routinely bought the neighbors $5 scratch-offs for Christmas in the 90s. One year my neighbor had a truck at his house not long after the holidays and had a new fridge delivered. The next year, he got a new Buick.
My dad said, "Forget it, he's not getting any more tickets from me."

When I first moved back to MS for Fathers Day I found some fake scratch off tickets and gave dad one in a card. "I f***ING WON 5 MILLION" then he flippeed it over and read the back. The only other time he has cussed me that much was when I was 10 and blew up his new hose with a bottle rocket.

I think the best I've ever done is like 50 on a scratch off. I generally only but those if it is something like spare change on groceries or gas. Once in a great while I'll buy one of those "2500 a week for life" ones or something like that.
A former coworker hit 50k on Powerball or Mega Millions a few years back. I only play that when it is generational type of money (i.e. a few weeks ago when it was over a billion). If I get a buck back on my 10 dollar investment, I'm amazed.
Since I like to play poker at the local casino, I'm there for most of their weekend drawings. I used to get drawn for those semi frequently and get whatever, 100 bucks free play. Best I ever did was 2500 cash on a match game since I knew where one of the 2500 cards was at. I haven't gotten drawn since (5+ years ago).
