Bought a Suede boxset last week, so I've been going through that. But on a tangent, I remembered this gem that original guitarist Bernard Butler did with David McAlmont:
This is of the best pop songs of the 90s and anyone who disagrees hasn't actually heard it.

Been on a bit of a Flickerstick binge recently. Bands On The Run was maybe the only reality show I was ever into. Flickerstick were the band that won, the above video being part of the prize package for winning. This was another favourite of mine during the show, Coke: Probably a little poppier than I normally go for, but I'm also a sucker for a big anthemic tune now and then... I was also a fan from Bands On The Run. Met a couple of the guys at a local music festival a couple months after the show. They were cool.

A lot of 90s and early 00s hiphop. The classics, PAC, Biggie, Snoop, Dre, Eminem, 50, etc.
Also: catching up on more modern Pearl Jam. They still rock.

Did you hear they just put out a new song?! Dude it's sooooo good. I know Brian Cook said that the song's a one off and they're not getting back together but I'm hoping, damnit.

The new Madonna "Finally Enough Love" remix collection. 3 CDs and 50 songs and all of them are really fun remixes.

I saw these back in September, the complete 4-piece lineup (This was the first single with new addition Charlotte Hatherley on Guitar). Seeing them again, albeit back to the original trio on Wednesday.
I love things they've done since, some of it quite recent, but this is stil, one of their best songs. Even Tim Wheeler, the guy who wrote it, would agree. Always a highlight of their live set.

My most played artist over the past few weeks has been the brilliant and underrated Redd Kross.

The relatively new "hardcore kids playing death metal" sound has been blowing my mind lately. Sanguisugabogg, 200 Stab Wounds, Undeath, Vomit Forth, Gatecreeper, etc.

Watched and rocked out to the first new Pantera gig on YouTube last night which led me to bumping Far Beyond Driven this morning for the first time in like 20 years since like half the set was from that album.
The album is still pretty killer except Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills might be the most cringe song they ever recorded. I would be embarrassed for someone to hear me bumping that shit.

I've listened to the Neil Young version and it does nothing for me. Somehow turning it into a dance track makes all the difference.

Just focusing on stuff from this year, off the top of my head. I really like Alan Parsons’ The New World, Future with I Never Liked You, Hot Shit by Cardi B, Kid Cudi’s “Stars In The Sky”, the new Gorillaz with Thundercat, Cochise’s, 2 Chainz and Kendrick’s new albums. “Turn It Up” by Cochise is nuts. “Aquamarine” by Black Thought/Danger Mouse is a good lyrical spiritual. Don’t listen to much country but I can’t stop playing “Wild As Her” by Corey Kent. Carpenter Brut put out that one song with the guy from Gunship, that rocks. The new White Lies slaps, “Am I Really Going To Die” is an ear worm. I’ve been playing a lot of Cannons, the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs songs, I also liked the new MCR track. “She’s All I Wannabe” by Tate McRae, I like that too. Lil Nas X and Youngboy with F*** B.E.T goes hard. My tastes are kinda “normie” but they bounce between genres. Funny, I was looking for a thread like this to drop the new hotness featuring Thundercat, and he's name dropped in the first reply. Thundercat is so talented, and he has a great voice. Loved "It Is What It Is", had Dragonball Durag on repeat. (mild language warning)
