I honestly think Seth is going to get a shot soon-ish. By soon-ish I mean maybe Rumble time.
They were hammering home hard that he wants specifically the Universal title on commentary during his match with Riddle.

Dude lost last night. Nobody is going to think he has a hope in hell of beating Roman.

Who next? No one.
I fully believe Roman is taking off until Survior Series.

Current Rollins with a case would be a lot of fun, the guy's having the run of a lifetime at the minute.

Wouldn’t mind Owens but Drew should get another crack. Also want AJ, they haven’t interacted since 2016.

No one is going to believably beat Roman right now so I think it would be a good time to just build up someone as getting hot and going on an extended run as an experiment to see how the crowd reacts to them. They would inevitably get mowed down by the GOAT but played correctly it could get them over huge. The problem being that this type of thing is almost never played correctly. Even someone taking Roman to a draw at this point would be huge as dominant as he’s been,
Failing that, I dunno Edge or something.

Though I wouldn't want to see it, I can see Drew getting a rematch at Extreme Rules in some sort of gimmick match.

Happy Corbin just to see the net go crazy. Also, Corbin was the last person to ever pin Roman way back in 2019.

Better question, do I care at this point?
No not really because we all know it’ll go exactly the same way as always.

Dude lost last night. Nobody is going to think he has a hope in hell of beating Roman. Wrestling doesn’t have to make sense. There’s been plenty of times guys lose a miscard title feud only to be rocketed in the world title picture the next month. Sheamus is a fiery underdog, Roman and him can beat the snot out of each other. Has his own minions to fight the Usos. They can even have a “I hate you but I respect you” alliance with Drew for a few tag matches as I’m sure he’s going after Sonny Siaki after last night.

Just do an angle of the Bloodline doing a gang beatdown on Drew again, but Sheamus and his Lads make the save out of Sheamo’s respect for Drew. Boom, you’ve got a title feud and a tag title feud with Ridge and Butch vs. The Usos.

We had a feud with Sheamus and Roman during Monday Night Football beating the hell out of each other, backed with goons, with nobody caring for most of it in 2015. Sheamus needs to be built up first, putting him in a program with Reigns straight after getting his chest turned to burger meat in Cardiff would be a really dumb decision. They need someone who the audience can buy as having a chance. But that list is pretty thin.

He doesn’t work every month so you’re looking at likely one more defense in 2022, then the Rumble and then Mania. So maybe Lashley and Seth as the next two opponents, with Cody at Mania.

For as much as good will they built up over the last few months there’s no one ready to take on Roman believably. Do you might as well strike while the iron is hot with Sheamus… what does building up mean anyways in WWE? An endless lukewarm midcard feud that cools everyone off than anything else.
