TK: "I heard this great thing TNAs got going on...." Malakai: "........"
Lady Frost thing was different(not getting paid and the complains of Impact being unable of affording meals)

Impact doesn't really sign talent to long-term guaranteed contracts anymore. If Malakai down the line wants to "dip his toes" in wrestling again, working Impact for a few months wouldn't be the worst idea. Sad as it is to say, I can't see Anthem dicking around a man of his talent and popularity like they did with Lady Frost.

That whole HOB stuff was about the most cringeworthy thing in AEW since the Nightmare collective, so maybe having all that creative freedom isn't really good for him. Totally agree with this. Huge fan of Malakai but the group was horrible imo. Buddy didn't fit at all. The Julia angle went to long and I'm really really not a fan of king at all

I’m guessing? King’s a good hoss. In hindsight, Buddy should have been opposition, instead of joining.

I also like Malakai way better as a face

Brody King is my favorite of the group. I love big dudes with lots of agility and athleticism.
Tommy's good, too, but I just have a real softspot for Brody.

I appreciate the hell out of Malakai's mind and how creative he is, but sometimes you just gotta keep it simple. He's always been at his best as a solo babyface who doesn't talk much IMO. And it's not that I don't think he can talk (he's a pretty good talker), but he's one of the few wrestlers who's able to say a lot without even opening his mouth if that makes sense.

I mean one of his best feuds was against Velveteen Dream... and it basically centered around him not talking.

That match with PAC was one of the best TV matches of the year Dude's been dealing with a shoulder injury and looked more pumped than he has in awhile on Elevation this week. I really think he's one of the better all around talents on a stacked roster and when allowed to show it, proves it.

If their doing what I think they are and getting ready to transition the All Atlantic Title to OC, Buddy us a good challenger for that... and with New Japan opening their fed in Australia and New Zealand...

I've come around to thinking Brody's pretty good, but the House of Black as a unit's sucked from day one and Buddy is one of those guys who is technically very good but wildly bland and I probably wouldn't have bothered bringing him into AEW personally.

Buddy Matthews is suffering from a problem a lot of wrestlers are having lately: being a good wrestler just isn't that big of a deal anymore. I mean, don't get me wrong, being good at being a wrestler will always matter, but the overall talent and athleticism in professional wrestling is at an all time high, so if you don't have much in the way of charisma - you're screwed.

Yeah, House of Black was a bit of a confused mess of nonsesnse from the start. Brodie's cool... Buddy didn't fit either in gimmick or again just my name... He's a great wrestler but he's like Tony Neese he's just missing something... like Tyson Kidd was forever until he finally found the gimmick that worked for him. the fact that both getting to Buddy and then Julia Hart moved at a glacial pace when basically everyone knew what was going to happen about a year before it did also certainly didn't help.

I think it's as much a mismatch as anything else. Buddy in the House of Black is like if Doug Furnas joined the Ministry of Darkness.

Yeah, it is / was one of Dolph's biggest problems in the WWE ... "Wrestle good" used to be a gimmick you could coast on forever... but so many more people since then came up could do that and have a more defined personality that being that "good wrestler gimmick" doesn't really cut it.

As an example, Gable wouldn’t be getting pushed and receiving asmuch airtime as he’s been getting, had he not embraced the “shushing” character and gone all out with it.

I like Buddy, but I think HoB would've been better suited as just the Black/King tag-team. And if they got to the Julia Hart defection sooner.

Maybe they can transition towards a more House of Violence type of thing.
Anyway, whatever Malachai Black/Tommy End does, I hope he gets better, both physically and mentally, that's the important thing, imo.

There also was American Alpha being considerably worse after dropping the rally towel and they became srs wrestlemen
