Damn didn't mean for accounts to get deleted over this. Steel bit a dude and probably isn't getting fired but this debacle cost us a FAN member. Now it's personal. How much would it cost for Ishii to bite Steel? Start the GoFundMe and I'll put 50 down...

If Punk somehow is fired, you will certainly not see AEW in Chicago anytime soon. Bollocks. Chicagoland is one of the biggest metro areas in North America, and it's a hot wrestling market. AEW will run shows with or without Punk, they did well without him and would do well without him going forward. Absolutely no way AEW gives up on Chicago considering how much effort they have put into it. Not to mention that, in my estimation, a good part of the reason Punk was so steamed after the show is that he was receiving mixed reactions against both Moxley and MJF.

If not Chicago they should just run Boston more (because I’ve been busy every time so far!)

He is though. And I’m not saying it in a judgmental way, I almost pity him. Watch Denise Salcedo’s footage of Punk’s scrum and just watch Tony. It’s sad. It’s emasculating. Terrible look. its true but honestly, i blame punk for putting him in that situation imagine having to come down and be like shut the f*** up to your actual idol The one defense I'll give Tony is that when that happens it's a lot tougher to react in the moment. Will Washington pointed out that a lot of wrestlers treat the scrum as semi kayfabe, so in some ways the best solution may be to let Punk rant get him out of there and try to cut things off before the fight... and from what it sounds like that was the initial plan and Buck/Daniels dropped the ball on their end. People can say so and so would do this, counter point is until someone is in the situation they don't know how they'd react.

Yeah. Again bringing up me talking about Darkest Dungeons. You got a strong piece, but said piece has way too many flaws that it affects the rest of the party, especially when the stress gets too much and it goes wrong and it'll affect the rest even worse. Either you invest on fixing said piece which means you paying for a while and not using them, or cut them off so you have room to have someone else to build up. As a co-DM in my last ever campaign we had to drop 3 players for being toxic individuals. We were about to kick out a fourth but cooler heads prevailed on that one. Sometimes you have to cut the rot out from the core and I would suggest firing Punk sends a message that no one is untouchable. Like... yeah. Like take out the brouhaha with biting, throwing a chair which hit an eye, and apparently kicking a door. Punk let out dirty laundry beforehand, in public, to media. Even mentioned someone's mother who wasn't even part of current grievances. How even should that be tolerated? You can say that Tony Khan doesn't do enough to set up a system that'll prevent that. All the same, Punk went beyond what should have been done in many ways. Whatever happened, he's the main instigator for airing out that dirty laundry. He brought out the term pipe bomb in the world of wrestling, and here's me using the cliche term, he worked himself into a shoot believing it. If Tony Khan does nothing more than a slap on the wrist, that's on him and it'll hurt AEW. Punk gets nothing but a slap on the wrist, he'll keep his toxicity and it'll be a coin flip in the future whether things repeat. This time no muffins, and no page 54.

This is an opinion piece, not news, and I don't agree with everything it says, but it's an interesting read. They lost me at "The demise of the AEW we once knew", miss me with that dramatic bullshit tbh

Wait, what? Wasn't that Cole? Didn't Cole win ... something? Ó_o I think I remember something about Cole and Britt winning some tournament with Martha Hart in her best Kentucky Derby outfit...but that was like 20 years ago so my memory is kinda fuzzy.... Right? It's totally possible that they both won something. Which must mean that neither one had. My true pick is Hardcore Holly.

Punk has not been getting universal reactions against anyone consistently enough. It's actually been really wild to see. For some reason Tony's put him primarily against faces and it's exposed just how open people are to cheering people who aren't CM Punk against CM Punk. Even if it's not a divided reaction but just the crowd supporting both dudes, it's really cut through some of the mythology around his return and I fully expect that with this shitshow now to his name he's not going to be able to hold that universal sway. Chicago will roll around, some goons will get CM Punk chants going, but it's not going to be open hostility to the product.

Sneak Man DMed me and said he's done here before they terminated their account, for anyone who wanted to know. Maybe they also did so for others.
I think that's about as indication as any that people here really need to calm the f*** down and it's getting way too heated and serious over something that yes, we care about, but we shouldn't care about THIS much.

Yeah I agree with that because he's going to do it again. He's been shown to be a petty hothead who would rather burn the house down then sell the house and make more money. You cannot rely on someone like that, he's lucky he's a main eventer with name recognition or he wouldve been canned ASAP

This is an opinion piece, not news, and I don't agree with everything it says, but it's an interesting read. This type of shit is where my brain melts, there are legit fans who want AEW to be a super indy that doesn't sign big name wrestlers and just stays in it's lane..it's like people who don't like bands anymore when they become successful.
