You can say that Tony Khan doesn't do enough to set up a system that'll prevent that. All the same, Punk went beyond what should have been done in many ways. Yeah I agree with that because he's going to do it again. He's been shown to be a petty hothead who would rather burn the house down then sell the house and make more money. You cannot rely on someone like that, he's lucky he's a main eventer with name recognition or he wouldve been canned ASAP

Even the biggest rats in the business who reached the level Punk have typically do their backstabbing behind the scenes. Like, is this on the scale of a Hulk Hogan stunt? No, absolutely not. But how often did Hulk Hogan publicly make an ass out of himself before he got recorded on a racist post-nut rant? He let his conniving be away from the public eye and people learned about it after the fact. The people who pull these sorts of stunts typically don't make it up to the actual top of the business like this. They don't get the big main event spots. Closest I can think of is Ric Flair, but his public f***-ups came largely after his heyday. I think we're in pretty uncharted territory with this kind of stunt playing out this way from someone at the level Punk was at when he did it.

I'd definitely go with Danielson as the transitional champion myself. It'd be a nice change of pace, he'd be instantly able to do some work rehabbing the belt, he'd likely click very well with MJF, and it'd help a lot to repair his image when he's been kind of booked into the ground lately.

If they do an eliminator I'd say Danielson since after just losing to Garcia and Jericho, I think he'd need momentum back. Maybe beats Moxley in a final match or something

I feel like the obvious solution for the title you do some kind of match to see who faces MJF for the title at Grand Slam, where MJF wins. Him getting the title soon was clearly the endgame. Just have him get there by beating someone else. You don’t end up disrupting the bigger picture that way.
