Punk's never been a natural athlete but he's had some great matches in AEW. No matter how much of a dick he may have been on Sunday, he's still had a good run. He's just not as athletic as he thinks he is sometimes. I get wanting to put on a great match and do something special, but know your limits and don't attempt topes or Buckshot Lariats. He really gets the story telling part of a match, but he's not a world class athlete like most other wrestlers are today. I think fans have taken for granted how good of athletes so many wrestlers are in 2022. That’s exactly it. As far as in ring stories. I think this AEW run has been his best. Bell to bell the matches have been very well laid out and told good stories. But his body is not standing up to it. Regardless of how you see him as a person, that is a shame because his wrestling mind is good. |

As the very first post noted, Punk just seemed degranged during that press conference. For something that should have lasted less than 10 minutes, did he really need to bring muffins and like 6 cans of sparkling water?
There was just nothing professional about any of that.
I really question the state of his mental health. While I think people should always be responsible for their actions, he does not act rationally at times. And sadly, he's worked in a space where this type of behaviour is welcomed and encouraged far too often

I have to say that fact that he's gotten suspended along with other people speaks for poorly of Christopher Daniels' ability to control things. I'm just saying if Curry Man had been hired for that role instead of him, there might not have been a fight at all; who wants to throw punches when the atmosphere around you is hot, spicy, and tastes great?
On this night where muffins failed, curry might have succeeded.

If this shit humbles him a bit and he comes back inspired and willing to play ball, then great. If he's just going to be a grump, he should be appreciative of his last year in wrestling and move on. this is one of the most reasonably post I've seen on here about this whole situation. seriously. It's just honestly the most logical response to it. I don't think he's some evil monster or psychopath. I think he's somebody that's caught up in his own shit and can't get out of his own way. The Bucks were rightfully mad, shit spun out of control. I think they've got some lessons to learn from this too. Maybe not as many as Punk, but still. I think there's also a lot of revisionist history happening around Punk's run as mentioned earlier in this thread. The dude was killing it on a week-to-week basis earlier this year and people were enjoying his run. Then he got hurt, some of this shit came out and that was it. If Shawn Michaels can find god and come back, CM Punk can go back to anger management, get a good therapist and move on from this shit. |

I never said he should have. I’m just discussing his interpretation of the topic. I’ve already posted that Punk is something of an entitled prick and acted unprofessionally. He also may or may not be full of shit, as well. Multiple reasons to have a shared account, not just to be hiding assets. I genuinely don't even think he was implying he was hiding assets. I think he was just being an asshole. The exact quote was: “I have every receipt. I have every invoice. I have every email. And as soon as we discovered that fact and we subpoenaed old Marcia , he sent the email ‘oh can we please drop all this.’” That's Punk saying that he countersued Colt and found out through discovery that he had a shared bank account with his mother. How embarassing!?! Then, when they subpoenaed Colt's mom he decided to try and drop it all because he wanted to save his poor mom (who, again, he shares a bank account with you guys!!!!!!!!!!!) from the embarrassment of litigation. There's not really an implication that he was hiding assets. People hiding assets don't put their names on joint bank accounts and produce them in response to discovery requests in litigation. They put them in bank accounts in Nauru and decidedly do not produce them in response to discovery requests in litigation. Punk was just making fun of him. |
