And vitally, the one deletion was someone having a bad day and not somebody doing a racism or something. i still feel so bad for that guy. he didnt have anything to do with that guy going off and even the guy going off wasn't going absolutely crazy iirc I completely missed it, no idea who was that delete, I know we are not supposed to talk but sucks to hear |

I can't believe CM Punk thought that being a weekend warrior for BJJ and wearing a Gracie hoodie while the commentary and wrestling fans on various forums (including this one, I was there, you can't gaslight me!) saying he was tough amounted to a martial arts background and that he was ready for the UFC

so just catching up on the SRS and Jimmy Van podcast from earlier (got busy at work midway through). Some interesting points. One being that a big part of the talent meeting weeks ago was stressing (more clearly) that everything cannot be all going to Tony to solve an issue.
Apparently there was an attempt from Tony and Megha to calm the stuff between Punk and Hangman back in May.
Someone asked Jimmy (who owns Fightful) how he would have acted in Tony's shoes when he was near Punk (this was an interesting answer). Where he said the mistake wasn't how Tony reacted or didn't but that he sits next to the talent. SRS mentioned this was for time purposes, but Jimmy stated that as owner he should either be to the side off camera or have someone else moderate and then Tony meets with the media before talent or after. Stated Tony likely wanted to wait and deal with Punk after the scrum as to not make a bigger story, but going forward he doesn't think Tony should sit with the talent during the scrums.
Jimmy also said (and has said in the past) that he thinks making the Elite EVPs was a mistake because they are active wrestlers and he thinks Tony is starting to see that. Said he felt Cody handled the media poorly and that's why Tony started handling that. Said he would probably strip them all of EVP titles.
SRS also said from what he was told Kenny wasn't as involved in the fight as thought, only got involved when things got ugly.
Heard reports of Daniels/Buck having heat for how things were handled, but doesn't think true. Basically Daniels,Buck,Nakazawa, Cutler, and MAYBE Kenny (conflicting) since they witnessed everything and Megha made the decision that everybody who witnessed entire thing would go home until the third party handling the investigation could meet with them and get interviews.

You know, all things considered, I think we've been pretty good for a thread with over 300 pages in three days. Only one person left the forum and only got locked once. I see this as a total win my fellows. Same. Hell, any time there HAS been turbulence it got sorted out fairly quickly. Like I was reading the lock announcement thinking "wait...when did that happen? Or that?? Ok, THAT happened but we handled it like adults quickly and quietly for the most part..." But it is what it is I suppose. Now we can go back to muffin shits posts and occasional bits of news.... Still wish Sneak hadn't blamed himself and nuked the account for that one batch of turbulence....but nothing is perfect. There were bound to be casualties along the way. yeah I wasn't sure where a couple of the things happened either but oh well |
