Why would Stone Cold lower himself to wrestling Cm Punk? Punk and Ace Steele vs. the APA or GTFO

Why would Stone Cold lower himself to wrestling Cm Punk? Money. I hate to say it but..that’d make a lot of money. And with their styles, it’d work like a charm. There have been rumors rampant that Austin’s down for more WM matches.

Honestly if Punk still has the wrestling bug like they claim and if Stone Cold is open to doing more matches like it is also claimed, I expect to see this match actually happen. Not at WrestleMania next year because of Punks injury would not be healed in time, but I can see it happening at say SummerSlam next year or most likely WrestleMania 40. Why would Stone Cold lower himself to wrestling Cm Punk? Why wouldn't he wrestle Punk? I mean even early this year there was a lot of disbelief of Stone Cold wrestling because the attitude was "why would Stone Cold wrestle KO of all people when there are bigger money matches" and yet he did wrestle KO. In Punks and Austin's case, they seem to be good friends or at the very least have a major amount of respect for each other and regardless of what any of us think of Punk, Punk vs Stone Cold is a big money match that can certainly headline a ppv.

I firmly believe that one nonnegotiable condition of Punk ever coming back into WWE is that he has to job to Miz at some point. He has to tap to Miz's janky-ass Figure 4. And then Kevin Owens' shitty Stunner. Maybe we can combine the two in a triple threat.

I don't know if I can deal with a world where Corey Graves could be considered to be more Punk Rock than CM Punk.

The window for a CM Punk vs Stone Cold match gets narrower by the day. The match at 'mania might not have gone ahead if it were any other day, remember it wasn't built up as a match, rather an interview segment on the first night of 'mania, and it was likely it was only made a match for certain on that day. I can't see CM Punk vs Steve Austin ever taking place.

I think we’re forgetting the matter of the torn tricep. That’s a long term injury, isn’t it? I’d have figured that any pie-in-the-sky WrestleMania fantasy booking was off the table for that alone.
And really, I don’t really want that Austin v Punk match anymore. Like, it’s based entirely on a “Guy that drinks a lot of alcohol vs guy that doesn’t drink any alcohol” thing that just smacks of the kind of elitist mindset that Punk has spent most of his life embracing.

I can't see CM Punk vs Steve Austin ever taking place. Right now I gave it's chances 50/50. A lot of it probably rides on if Punk actually goes back to WWE But CM Pun if a muffin eating freak, and that ain't normal. So there is a 25% chance, at best, for him to face Austin. You add Triple H running the WWE to the mix, his chances of facing Austin go way down. So with Austin, CM Punk, and Triple H involved, there's a33 1/3 chance of it happening, and a 66 2/3 chance of it not happening. So Triple H knows he can't get along with Punk, so he's not even going to try. So Punk, take your 33 1/3% chance, minus the 25% chance, and you got 8 1/3 chance of getting in Wrestlemania. Then you take 75% chance of Punk not signing with WWE, if he were to try, then take 66 2/3%, and Punk’s got 141 2/3% chance of not facing Austin at Wrestlemania. See, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for CM Punk vs Steve Austin at Wrestlemania.

I don’t want the Punk/Austin match either but if he were to rehab hard he’d likely be able to have a match at WM. He almost certainly had the surgery within a few days to a week of the injury and usually by 3 or 4 months You can start strengthening it again. He would probably only be 85-90% but that’s more than enough to have a brawl with someone. Tricep repairs aren’t that long anymore. I had surgery to repair my torn bicep tendon August 31, 2020 and was back lifting again by the first week of December. Wasn’t 100% mind, but was back strengthening it up. All of that said, I don’t need to see Punk on any wrestling program again because you just know they’ll dance around this debacle with insider jabs.

If it was a completely torn triceps that required surgery, you’re looking at 6 months on the low end. Edge tore his triceps in June 2020 and returned at the Rumble which is about 7 months. Punk tore it early September so 7 months for him would be early April.

A lot of it also depends on how they negotiate the contract buyout on top of the injury.
