Every channel is airing it. Is it wrong I would actually watch the damn thing if it were actually presented by those channels? With no sound, badly mimed mourning.

Did I hear Roddy Piper's theme when the casket was being transported on the gun carriage to Westminster Abbey?

Can you imagine the pressure to not be the one to screw up here?

Good to see David Beckham join the queue for 12 hrs and not use his fame to bypass the crowds. He was genuinely moved and bought his group of queuers donuts and treats. Susanna Reid and Tim Vine also queued for hours. Shame Schofield and Willoughby didn’t get the memo. I'm frankly appalled that these rich individuals would get an unearned privilege that makes them feel like they're above regular people... To go and see the Queen.

I can easily understand where the people of the Uk have had their fill of the coverage. But was it unexpected? The woman was Queen for nearly a century, the mourning ceremonies for her were bound to be a spectacle.

One of the interesting things here is trying to guess how many people in the crowds are secret service types, and how many marksmen there are hidden in trees and things along the route. Also interesting to see that even a funeral isn't immune to gits holding phones and iPads up to record the entire thing.

Just wanted to leave a note for the British FANs that I hope you are doing alright and hope all the sadness does not trigger or burden.
For my part, I will say farewell saddened that she is gone, but content that Elizabeth and Phillip Mountbatten are reunited, beyond all titles beyond husband and wife. And to repeat back the words a young girl said during the war that are true again: “My sister is by my side and we are going to say good night to you. Come on, Margaret. Good night, children! Good night and good luck to you all!”
Requiescat in pace.

A lesson in dignity, pride and pageantry. And I say that as someone who isn’t exactly a monarchist.

quite, quite surreal ... not a religionist, barely a monarchist a lot of moments i welled up, and at the very end of the windsor service i went ... those processions were magnificent to behold from westminster hall to westminster abbey from westminster abbey to wellington arch from wellington arch to windsor castle and a long walk ... finally reaching home those lone piper laments hits hard, as they faded GOD HOLD OUR QUEEN PAST
GOD KEEP OUR KING PROMISED the coronation will probably be april or may next year

Weather considerations will be given for the coronation. Best to avoid the hottest months, especially down in London.

A few Ugly American questions if I may for my fellow Brits:
- What happens now? I mean, that monster queue and the outpouring means there is an insane level of respect and affection. But Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel isn’t exactly a public space. Will there be opportunities for the public to pay respects and lay flowers for Elizabeth and Phillip?
- Without getting political, is there desire for Americans to come and visit? Between my diabetes and my passing cursory knowledge on England and the Royals, would it be worth time and money to come to England, Scotland and Ireland to try and learn first hand?
I think that’s all I got. Just… curious on the one hand and not wishing to be a yokel or a burden if I were to visit.

There's now another seven days of royal mourning, and at some point after that Windsor Castle and St. George's Chapel reopen to public visitors.
And Britain has no shortage of tourists, so I don't think anyone would be in the least bit concerned about one more. Just don't stand on the left on the escalators on the Tube.

I think entry to the chapel she's buried in is part of the ticket to visit Windsor castle, an easy say trip from London. Westminster abbey is also a place you can visit. Plus the tower for older royal history. It'll be an expensive trip though. Edinburgh is a great place to visit and had the royal yacht and Hollyroodnhouse, the military tattoo they hold each year might be of interest to you. Probably wont learn much unless you come during the corrination. They're mostly background noise.
