Reading the "myths regarded as facts" thread got me thinking...
What's some of your favorite conspiracy theories?
This doesn't mean you believe them or agree with them. Just ones you find funny, or interesting.
Or maybe you do believe?
For me...
I don't think JFK was killed by just a lone gunman.

None. Since I realised that most of them are just barely veiled attempts to drum up antisemitism, I stopped having an interest in them.

The deaths of Don Henry and Kevin Ives just has way too many weird facts around it to not be some kind of cover up, however far up that goes, which could include state officials.

Jeffrey Epstein was murdered to keep him from talking. There’s waaaaay too much there for it to have been a simple suicide. Who did it we’ll probably never know, but he was definitely taken out.
Michael Jordan getting busted for gambling on games and that’s why his weird sojourn into minor league baseball began.

Mothman is fun.
Also the Elvis isn’t dead one stands out for actually making you consider it’s validity the deeper you dive. It’s genuinely got some compelling arguments supporting it.

I was always into the 9/11 ones to a degree. Not that it’s an inside job but other aspects of it. Problem is that was when all the big money conspiracy theorists doubled and tripled down on their Looney Tunes business.

I like the theory that the bullet that blew JFKs head to bits actually came from one of his own men in the car behind which accidentally discharged.
I know we occasionally f*** up at work, but that's a biggie

In high school I had a history teacher that every November we discussed the theories, and watched the Oliver Stone movie.

In high school I had a history teacher that every November we discussed the theories, and watched the Oliver Stone movie. It was a documentary, think it was called JFK the secret killer. Quoted alot from the Warren report and put forward a good case. Think the guys in the other car had been drinking quite a bit the night before and after the shot that went through Kennedy's neck, he accidentally fired. I don't know anything about ballistics, but is it possible that a bullet can go through JFK and through the Texan senator a few times, then another bullet from the same gun make his head explode like that?

None. Since I realised that most of them are just barely veiled attempts to drum up antisemitism, I stopped having an interest in them. This and as a former government employee, i quickly realized that almost no one in the government is smart enough (or cares enough) to take part in them. Like, we can't even process basic things in a timely manner.

One conspiracy theory I think is 100% nonsense but still fascinating is that the Titanic didn't sink. Instead, it was its sister ship as part of an insurance scam.

A FMJ bullet will leave shards like what were found in the senators wrist, but have little to no expansion that will cause a major exit wound. You need a softer bullet that will expand on impact, small entrance large exit. FMJ should be same size on entry and exit. Oswald’s rifle was found with FMJ ammo.

Sort of the big poster boy for that, though sadly not the only antisemitic conspiracy theory, is "Lizard People". David Icke is a raging antisemite who thinks that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion is real and not a proven hoax, and his lizard people shtick boils down to "The Jews are behind this" at the end of the day. Similarly, if a conspiracy theory mentions a cabal, "globalism", "the elite", etc, it's usually "we mean Jewish but know it's considered uncouth to be openly bigoted".
