There is no flaw in AEW that bothers me more than Jim Ross because his stink is in every cornero f the show and (almost) every match rather than just being one segment of the show's booking or some talent I'm not feeling. JR has so many different ways he just tanks my enjoyment of the show when he'saround and it really speaks to how much better things are when he isn't up there getting mad because he stopped paying attention, said something stupid only because he doesn't know what's going on that reveals he stopped paying attention, and Taz tried to correct him. "Google.com! How do you drown a man in barbecue sauce and make it look like Chuck Taylor did it? GOOGLE ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!? AW SON OF A BITCH!"

without directly ragging on JR, there’s no need for someone who clearly doesn’t care about much of the product being so front and center

I think Taz and Tony would make an UN-BE-LIEVABLE duo.

Excalibur and Taz is one of the best commentary duos of all time IMO Tony is.. good , he isnt bad but he also doesnt add that much. His only use for me is having the heel antagonize him and vice versa. I think Tony is the glue that holds it together. His enthusiasm doesn't want, he smoothly pulls his colleagues back in track and does a good job trying to cover for any botches or logic gaps. He does all that while keeping his own character and not going into Michael Cole robot mode. A good example is when he got shoved this week he was keen to get over the fact MJF would be fined but is too rich to care. Kept the internal logic of actions having consequences and reinforced a character trait of the heel.

It used to be that JR could still get into gear in the big main event match, one with a lot of history behind it, but even now he falls flat doing that. He can still bring it- his call on the Mox/Jericho match at Quake by the Lake was fantastic- but if you're only getting those type of performances a few times a year, then that is not a good return. Think we're finally seeing the wind down of his career.

I'm just glad we don't hear that much of his comments toward the female wrestlers, like he did in the beginning of AEW.

I was really pleased that he got another chance in AEW after how Vince treated him, but these days he not only doesn't add but actively detracts from the show.

The entire AEW announcing team just... doesn't gel. Excalibur is f***ing terrible. I hate him as a commentator so much. Tony is great but he's drug down by the others. JR has moments, but honestly he's past his prime. 💯 I like Taz, I enjoyed him on Smackdown and TNA. You're spot on about Excalibur.
