Rolling Stone lists are always such shit. I honestly thought someone would just tell me that Rolling Stone is such shit, which: true.

What a hipster, I-want-Twitter-cred list with all the actual rating 'hit' shows missing. That describes pretty much every list Rolling Stone has ever published.

Scrubs got shafted.
At least The Shield hit top-50

No Doctor Who on here is weird for me. Hugely influential show and has been massively popular during Old and New eras. At least DW made it on to BBC's list of greatest shows, even if it still lost out to Only Fools, which to my knowledge isn't as renowned stateside as it is in blighty.

Fantastic list. I was ready to shit on it, much of the list is clearly wrong but they actually explained how it was formed and that makes it so much better.
They asked selected people in the industry to name their top 50 shows if all time with no restrictions.
It's fascinating how they select to self imposed criteria to a certain degree. My prediction is Fleabag will drop way down the list if they do it again in a few years while many of the other shows at the top are cemented there for the foreseeable future.

It's slightly asinine to hate on lists like this - no-one on earth could make a list of the 100 Greatest TV Shows that people would agree with.
Have to say, I was surprised by how low Friends was. Good Place is good and everything, but it won't be being repeated nearly 24hrs a day in 20 years time.

Pffh. Wire and Sopranos are hardly HBO’s best dramas. No Big Love love yet again.

shame some shows didn't make the list like St. Elsewhere and Homicide: Life on the Street, surprised only the original series of Star Trek made the list too
unless I missed any of these looking at the list

Sad to see very few animated TV shows making it on there with most of them being aimed-at-adult ones (one could say that that is because it is a list aimed more for adult audiences...then again, it has Sesame Street on there which, while not an animated show, is more of a show aimed at children rather than adults).

It being a Rolling Stone list, I’m surprised they didn’t find a way to make Bob Dylan #1

Speaking of shows that changed the game: No Law and Order on that list, no The Price is Right, no Married with Children, no Millionaire, no Survivor, no thirtysomething. This is kind of a crap list. No Married with Children is blasphemy.

All I did was search "Bojack" and it told me all I needed to know about how much I'd agree with the list.

If there is an infinite number of universes similar to our own, there still isn't one where the Sopranos is better than the Simpsons.

Rolling Stone lists are always such shit. Yeah, I feel the same way. It's so subjective and basically used to get people to talk about the author's shitty opinion.

surprised only the original series of Star Trek made the list too Surprised TOS made it at all. Groundbreaking as it was, two thirds of the show's episodes are utter tripe.

The golden age of kids animation from the 1990s is criminally overlooked by “serious” critics. Anytime cartoons get mentioned in these TV lists it’s either just Simpsons, Bojack or South Park and like no other toons exist.
