And speaking of Kellie, she's also been accused of being trans by some random Twitter goober which is the embodiment of this discussion not even being about fairness in sports but about women who don't fit the image of the western ideals of womanhood, whatever the f*** that even means. You are spot-on when it comes to them not seeing these women in their ideal image. Essentially to these people, if you are a buff woman or have more muscle mass than the average woman, you will get accused of being transgender. You can't reason with people like that. A lot of them will say stuff like that, but will get very, very antsy if anybody checks out their browsing history...

One of the absurd comments I read on this was “Imagine if it was Kellie Harrington (top Irish boxer) they were fighting, would you defend them then if she got hurt?”… Harrington actually beat this woman on the way to winning a gold medal at the last f***ing Olympics! And speaking of Kellie, she's also been accused of being trans by some random Twitter goober which is the embodiment of this discussion not even being about fairness in sports but about women who don't fit the image of the western ideals of womanhood, whatever the f*** that even means. That's the thing. Basically, every elite female athlete in the world is subject to being scrutinized for being "too masculine" because, like, they are elite athletes.I've even seen Cameron Brink, who borderline objectively fits all traditional western notions of beauty, get the ignorant "that's gotta be a man" comments because she's 6'4. It just goes back to what I was talking about last night. The very idea of "men in women's sports" is completely manufactured outrage that has been strategically turned into this hot button political issue in the United States despite being a complete non-issue. I try and stay reasonably well-informed and I genuinely can't think of a time that a trans athlete has won a championship above the college level and even at the college level it has happened so few times you can count them on one hand (which is why transphobes remain so fixated on Lia Thomas, and Lia Thomas alone, to this very day). There are 0 trans women in the WNBA. There is 1 nonbinary transmasculine player, Layshia Clarendon, who is doing exactly what the Logan Pauls of the world advocate for and playing in the league for their "biologically assigned gender." As far as I'm aware, there is not a single trans female playing in a major women's sports league anywhere in the world right now. When the thing you're outraged about doesn't even actually exist, you have to create the outrage yourself. Which is why basically every single elite female athlete is subjected to "THATS OBVIOUSLY A MAN" comments right now.

I wasn't really familiar with Kellie so I pulled up an image of her. She looks like a woman. It looks like she has a bit of a squared jaw line, but there is nothing that I see by looking at a picture of her that would tell me she's male. Why are people so offended by or, I believe, scared of athletically gifted, badass women? There is a woman on the USA Rugby Sevens team, Ilona Maher, that has gotten some grief. She is an absolute stud on the Rugby pitch. She's a beautiful and strong woman that just lead our team to Bronze and people want to degrade her because she's athletically gifted. Hell, people have said Caitlyn Clark is "mannish". Maybe it's the girl dad in me.... but it sickens me how some people (and it's not just men) treat these women.

I think it’s worth repeating as often as possible that this is not a real issue effecting society. No one you know has been personally impacted by a trans athlete having an unfair advantage in sports because the number of times this has happened is statistically zero.
People in our lives are, however, impacted daily by harassment and abuse they face for being trans. That is an actually real problem in the world. The athlete is just created as a talking point to demonize trans people. If a trans woman became the MVP of the WNBA, thousands of people who have never talked about the WNBA nor watched it once their in lives will suddenly start pontificating about how unfair it was. Not because they care about the WNBA. But because they hate trans people.

Also, these defenders of women's sports not knowing that the Olympics has had hormone tests and testosterone limits for competitors in women's events for decades (and chromosomal tests that proved to be problematic for even longer) is the definition of telling on yourself. Just terrible people who found a way to drape themselves in equality because they're incapable of empathy.

This person was not aware that women have testosterone. I thought the person was trolling but the admitted not knowing it. My God!

Yeah, the three big sex hormones (testosterone, progesterone, estrogen) are typically found in all humans.

God, if there is any word recently that has just lost all of its meaning, it is that one. It does help to weed out those whose opinions aren't worth listening to, though.

Sadly, the damage has been done. Plus, while "If the IOC said she can fight, I respect that decision" isn't exactly "Oopsie!" it's hardly the most supportive statement she could have made either.

Bad news, gang. I’m not allowed to compete at the Olympics. They found traces of male DNA in my bed sheets 🙁 Me too. And female DNA (though only traces). And cat DNA. The Transvestigators were very confused.
