Considering how quickly the Dark tapings fill up, you’d think they’d run Orlando MORE often

Considering how quickly the Dark tapings fill up, you’d think they’d run Orlando MORE often Interestingly, Jarrett on Talk is Jericho talked a lot about how his job will involve strengthening the relationship with Universal space wise in 2023 which makes me think they're going to use it more. I could see it being used for bulk ROH tapings or even some live Rampages if they want to go that route.

As an example of how ticket situations can change, they've moved well over 2000 tickets in the past 3 weeks for the LA show. Obviously this won't happen every where but the days where AEW sells X number of tickets and that's where it remains seems to be over. They are starting to see patterns similar to WWE where they see a lot of movement to start and then a lot of movement right when the event comes up. I imagine we'll see something similar in other big markets like their Long Island show.

Feel like a heavier Mercedes hint could’ve pushed another couple thousand tickets as they’re still around 5-6K below the attendance of the last Dynamite in that arena, but they may value the surprise aspect more.

so looking at ticket sales seems like Laredo is currently the outlier. Other shows are moving fairly well

Laredo might just be either a bad market or tickets won't move until like a week or two before the show. It's still got about a month or so.

Meltzer mentioned that the LA show did the AEW record for most tickets sold on the day of the show which is remarkable given it started at 4:30 local time. It was the 4th biggest wrestling crowd in the history of the Forum.

Considering the tickets have been on sale for over 3 weeks now and AEW PPV's normally sell most of their tickets early on, this is very disappointing.
Well it's not doing much better
Hopefully this gets good walk up sales or there's going to be a lot of empty seats, because after stage setup you could fit 13-14 thousand in that arena.

They've really only started building up the card this week, they'll push more when they get more matches going, but Mox/Hangman in a Deathmatch is gonna help

Now that they've started announcing matches for the PPV, I'd expect some more tickets to sell. Up until tonight's show, the only match on the card was MJF vs Danielson and that was only confirmed last week.
Now that AEW has run most towns at least once, they're not in the phase where people just want to go for the experience of seeing AEW live anymore. Tickets sell slower and pick up nearer the time. We'll see what happens with this one.

San Francisco is just not looking a good market for AEW, sales for Dynamite & Rampage at the Cow Palace are also going badly. I think running 3 shows in a week in the same city is just overkill in this current financial climate.

I like how having to open up whole new sections for tickets because of demand is somehow framed as a bad thing.

Shouldve gone to San Diego instead tbh.

On the other hand, they are going to set the record for wrestling attendance at the Chase Center! Maybe that city just doesn't like the sport.

You're probably right, after looking into it the last few times WWE ran San Francisco they did less than 5 thousand per show.
Maybe with this being AEW's debut in a new market and it being a PPV I expected too much.

I think SF isn't a wrestling hotbed like it was before, you have to remember theyre currently going through a housing crisis and economical crisis in the bay area, so the target base of fandom would likely not be able to afford tickets. And thats for either company.

Honestly, unless its Chicago, which feels like would pack out 7 AEW shows in the same week, ya shouldn't be doing 3 shows in the same city in the same week. It makes very little sense from a sales perspective

It should reach 3.5K-4K by bell time which is normal for a Dynamite lately and All Out will be over 10K which is pretty good for an AEW PPV these days, especially one week after their biggest show ever. Given the cost savings involved in running 3 shows in the same city, it seems worth it.
