Niles not being back, even for a guest starring role, feels like a huge piece is gonna be missing from this
If it catches on, maybe he could for the second season, but I will say, every single Paramount= original comedy has now been cancelled or ended. Frasier is now the only one remaining before it even premieres. Can't say that bodes well.

i enjoyed the first episode. I know Frasier can't be as 'animated' as he can be in certain situations due to age and whatnot, but the writing was still able to inject a little bit of that old madness into the scenario when he was investigating the room with David.
I thought the closing scenes to set up the new status quo did seem a bit convenient/unearned/rushed.
Alan is a lot like me, I don't drink but I have the same observations as he does.
David was fun, and his presence didn't command the room, which is so tempting for writers to do with characters like that in this post-Big Bang world.

I don’t know who decided on the laugh track but I pray they pay for their crimes
Enjoy most of the new characters. Not sure about David yet

I don’t know who decided on the laugh track but I pray they pay for their crimes Anyone who uses a laugh track is someone who isn't confident in their own writing. Cheers started the trend of announcing they film in front of a live audience since people didn't understand why the laughter was so loud. Not only is this a better precedent, it allows for the performers to control the flow of their dialogue because it flows better with natural laughter. This is actually a pet peeve for me with most comedy nowadays in general. Timing is everything in humor and many times the shows try to cram 50 little jokes in a minute instead of 10 great jokes in a minute.

Dammit, why is it we get a small glimpse into a {Spoiler}Better premise for the show than the one we've actually got?!

Cheers is probably a top 5 sitcom of all time.
But imagine it was just Sam and Diane, the show loses its soul. I don’t put Fraser on as highs pedestal but retconning the supporting cast of the main character seems stupid
I get that they kind of did that with the original Frasier when it initially spun off but they had a great cast around to keep itnup

It's OK, but shows how important the surrounding cast was around Frasier, particularly David Hyde Pierce.

I've enjoyed it so far. David makes me laugh but man I wish Niles could be here.

Finally saw the first episode. Not convinced by any of the new charachters, even if the mum and Rodney had potential as the actors were trying to breath life into them. Although it's the first episode so harsh to judge purely by that.
Which is a long way of asking how has it been since the first episode?

I've watched it most weeks and it's nice to see more Frasier. I like Freddy as well and i feel they work well together. It hasn't quite lived up to the original in my opinion. Other than the scene in the first episode where they discuss Martins death there just hasn't been that scene or joke or rant that has been that memorable.
