Yeah, pleased for him that he has a belt. Been a while since he's had one, can't remember when exactly he last had one. I'm pleased for him cos he's been one of the more consistently entertaining wrestlers both in character work and in-ring for a while now IMO.

And at that, it adds more legitimacy to the midcard title reign 

Lashley had a strong reign and now it falls to Rollins. GUNTHER is also having a strong title run

Assuming they do go Rock/Roman, you have a built in match and a feud that can go over years 

Like let's say Seth beats Cody and retains the title. Maybe he wins a rematch as well. You have a story down the line for whoever is World Champ and how that will play out

I'm conflicted on the idea of Cody taking the US title off of him. It'd be real neat if he won it since aesthetically, it'd fit, and it'd be him winning a title both his father and brother won before, but I do worry it'd derail getting the WWE title on him, which, given he's probably going to be de facto the top babyface again when he comes back, would be bad.

However, not at all conflicted on Seth winning the title. It's a net positive, even if it is contributing to "heels have like all the belts right now".

The US Title is beneath Cody, dude should be chasing one or both of the top belts. It also feels beneath Rollins too.
