Re-casting Eric Forman for Season 8 of That 70s Show, with Josh Meyers replacing the departing Topher Grace instead of playing a new character Randy.
It would have retroactively ruined the entire show. Thank god they didn't do that.

Dewey was supposed to die in the original Scream. Wes Craven decided at the last minute to shoot the scene of him surviving and going into the ambulance because he thought David Arquette was so likeable and the character had more potential if a sequel was going to be made.

If Jesse Pinkman had actually died in season 1 of Breaking Bad, would've been a very different show. I think about that a lot and I can't even imagine it, or Breaking Bad without him. Like, just watching it is amazing to me they even planned it at all, considering how well Aaron Paul did in that role from early on. I wonder how Breaking Bad would've done without the Jesse and Walt dynamic tying everything together. Word. I imagine they would've played it much more straightforward as a crime show, and while it probably wouldn't have been bad, it would've lost a lot of what made it special.

I'm pretty sure the plan to kill Jesse was made before they started filming and as soon as they saw how great Paul was, they changed things up. My what if is if they fired Creed instead of Devon in season 2 of the office. It came down to(in real life) that Devon had another job lined up so that's how the show runner made his decision on who to fire. No way Devon would've been close to the same character that Creed ended up becoming.

TWO infants. Marcy was pregnant as well. And that was dropped (tweaked really, since they’d then do the brief Seven run) for the same unfortunately tragic reason the Cheers one was dropped, Katey Sagal losing her child during pregnancy. Yeah, I have read she said she’d carry the story on, but the producers said there was no way they were keeping it going.

Another one that I heard about that was scrapped: Aladdin TV series villain Mozenrath was going to be revealed to be Aladdin's brother.
Curious how that would have played out.

Another Marvel movie one. The ending to the first Blade had an appearance and sequel tease by Morbius The Living Vampire. The films director Stephen Norrington played Morbius in the scene (if they went ahead and used him in the sequel they would have casted someone more well known). The scene can be seen here: youtu.be/2-Vo_6onR84

Speaking of siblings, Ursula was originally going to be Triton's Sister and Ariel's Aunt, which they did for the live shows.

How different would Dragon Ball be if Toriyama was allowed to go through with his original plan of Androids 19 and 20 being the main antagonists of that saga.

Speaking of Breaking Bad, I imagine it wouldn't be nearly as well-regarded or as memorable of a show if they'd gone with the original plan for the season 1 finale of Walt kidnapping and torturing a man who then killed Walt Jr.

Grand Theft Auto V
One the original ideas was for Franklin to be killed off during one of the heists, after that Lamar was to take his spot on the character selection wheel. Hence why Franklin seems to have Chop despite being Lamar’s dog.
Lamar would have blamed Michael over Franklin’s death, thus having the choice to kill Michael at the end of main story would have made sense character wise.

The studio was very much against serialization when it came to TNG, which is a shame because some great stories could have been expanded upon and explored. A season four revolving around no Picard on the Enterprise and a Starfleet struggling to rebuild? Fascinating. I watched the series out of order, knowing of Picard becoming Borg, so I assumed that he was actually out of the Captain's chair for more than just a couple episodes, so watching it years later, it was a tad disappointing that he was indeed only gone for a short while. So yes, the idea of Picard being gone for longer may have fleshed out Riker some more before bringing Picard back.

Power Rangers Hexagon, the original concept for what eventually became Ninja Storm.
Hexagon basically would've been the expansion on what started with Forever Red: Tommy creating a large Power Ranger organization to unify all of the prior teams. Sort of like JLU years before that show. The main team would've been 3 rookies who got their ninja themed powers from Ninjor. Many past rangers/allies would've been recurring guests, like Joel (Green Lightspeed) being the shuttle pilot that transported the team to battle (to justify a shiny new toy to sell naturally).
The "Thunder Rangers" would be anarchist renegades that didn't like the idea of all rangers following one man and believing Power Rangers should stay independent. As per the stock footage from the adapted sentai season, Hurricanger, the 3 rookies & 2 rebels would battle each other as often as they fought monsters. As the season progressed, more & more past rangers would take sides on this conflict, leading what could best be called the PR version of the Marvel Civil War a whole 3 years before that comic event.
It's actually kinda funny just how well Hurricanger lent itself to the concept, as not only did it have the 2 opposing teams, but also the 6th ranger was green with a large gold chest shield. In other other words, this was gonna be adapted as Tommy's new ranger suit in direct homage to his origins.
As for just who the villains of Hexagon would even be, it was gonna be a rotating rogue's gallery of surviving villains like Scorpina & Gastor. This is yet another way in which Hurricanger was a perfect fit: while the sentai had a single united villain faction, the different generals all had their own themed MotW. IE 1 general had all robotic monsters, another commanded animal-themed ones, a 3rd had masked warriors, etc. This sub categorization would've made it easy to give the different villains their own forces.

Harrison Ford was all for the idea of not having Han survive the carbon freeze when he thawed out in Jabba's palace.
Another one from Jedi, instead of Ewoks, the Death Star was going to be in orbit around Kashyyk, with the Empire using Wookiee slave labour to get it built.

That second one I think got the kibosh put on it because of the Holiday Special.
