The internet really needs to find something more original than "OH MY GOD HAWAIIAN PIZZA IS GROSS"

I'll let people put whatever the f*** they want on a pizza as long as they shut the f*** up about it.

Pineapple? On my pizza?
It's more likely than you think.

Taking Dominos advice on pizza in general is like having Captain Hook as your proctologist.

As long as you drain the pineapple good before putting it on the pizza it goes well with some ham and bacon on top. If you’re lazy about it it waters everything down and it’s terrible.
For best results add some well squeezed pineapple pieces after cooking the pizza halfway already so it can retain flavor but crisp up enough.

Pinapple, pepperoni, jalapeno is amazing. Ok this sounds legit. I'll need to try this.

Taking Dominos advice on pizza in general is like having Captain Hook as your proctologist. Strangely, they sell a Hawaiian pizza, they wouldn't have a monetary reason for that tweet would they? Naw.

Honestly pineapple on pizza is fine, it's nothing I'd order myself, but if someone else orders it and offers it to me I'll eat it. What does bother me is stuff like Buffalo chicken pizza, or chicken on any pizza. So me not liking it means there's more for those who do.

I mean, I live in a area where you can order pizza from a gas station and regularly eat breakfast, taco or crab rangoon pizza so Im okay with pineapple on pizza. It actually pretty good.

Ok, so the big issue here from all us NY-metro area pizza snobs?
The problem is that if you have pineapple on a good, and I mean a really good pizza, it either means the sauce on your pizza is bullshit and lacks flavor or it means you're ruining a perfectly well sauced pie with an even sweeter condiment. The sauce should provide the (subtly) sweet flavor, the toppings, if you'd like any, should add the savory or salty.
Now, if you're ordering from Dominos or something? Who cares, go crazy, it's Dominos. Look, I'll order Dominos now and then, but that's because sometimes I'll just get a hankering for "pizza food" instead of a legit pizza, the rules don't apply, here.
And hey! Some decent pizzerias serve all kinds of crazy toppings combinations, and you're ordering from a place like that and want to get crazy I personally don't see a problem with it. I've got places near where I work that serve up things like Thai chili sauce chicken pizza, and with how nice the bread is it just works...but they don't put the tomato sauce on those pies, because the sauce brings the sweet flavor profile!
So yeah, I really think it comes down to the tomato sauce. If it's a white pie? That's a little more murky, though I don't really see the appeal of combining pineapple and ricotta. But my girlfriend enjoys pineapple on pizza, and for me it worked when she ordered it from a local &Pizza location (their pies feel more like flatbreads to me) and we even cooked a white pizza from Blue Apron a couple of days ago that used it and it wasn't offensive (but again, in that case no ricotta on the pie, just mozzarella and grated parm). And end of the day, personally, I just find the texture of pieces of pineapple themselves on a pizza to be a bit too "off" for me.

I'll order it from the nationals chains or from a local spot that does a decent pineapple special but yeah I'm never gonna get it from a Pizzeria that sells a certain "authentic" American slice of pizza.
