Evidently the Game of Thrones franchise because even having one of the all time worst endings in television history did nothing to effect how many people watched the prequel series.

At this point - and especially with the Disney buyout - I can't see the Simpsons ending within the next decade or more, even when one or more of the core cast members are no longer able to continue.

A double whammy has established the precedent to replace established actors. Russi Taylor's unfortunate passing and the fall out from the Apu controversy have led to a few minor-mid tier characters being recast. Heck, that could get it going even longer, rather than having to increase the salaries of long established members, they can go for cheaper unknown voice actors in future.

SNL is gonna be on the air until the end of time I've heard rumors that Year 50 might be it as Lorne might finally retire after that year. While I'll believe it when I see it... as someone that recently went through the non-Lorne years on Peacock... it was NOT good (other than Eddie Murphy) at that time without Lorne Michaels. I know people think it isn't good now (and not for several years), but it is still better than those 5 or 6 years Lorne was gone. He's kind of walked that back in recent years. Honestly, I don't see SNL going anywhere even if Lorne steps down, somebody like Kenan will step in. I've heard whispers that Seth Meyers' show might be getting cancelled and if that happens, it opens him up too. He was always talked about as Lorne's replacement.

I just can't see Julie Kavner being physically able to do Marge much longer. It's getting painful to hear.

Maybe Kenan or Seth brings a renaissance... For me, i'm happy it's still around, but even with the election coming up, I haven't been at all interested in watching it.
