I don’t think I could be more dissatisfied with the results of todays show if they just canceled the card and spit in my face

Questionable decision.
If Aussie Open weren't winning, why not have Naito/Sanada or TMDK?

Just seeing these dopey faces Chaos b teams beat much more exciting options once was enough. And I got to see it twice.
Takes the undercard from super fun to super whatever
They set up 3 matches on this show for the Dome that I could not possibly care less about…right in a row.

I went into the show not caring about either final, so you can't disappoint the pre-disappointed. I also called Karl retaining and Tama challenging at the Dome two days ago, because that is such a Gedo move. It's whatever - I'm a big New Japan apologist, and I've paid for NJPW World since it was created, so they will retain me as a fan thru Wrestle Kingdom.
The disbanding of Suzuki-gun is sad, and I might be in the minority on this, but I like that we never got a usurper within the group. The idea that Suzuki retained everyone's fear/respect to the end is a very cool finish. He was also emotional walking through the curtain, which is like seeing your dad cry after getting his gold watch from the factory. Taichi and TAKA announced that next week's anniversary event is their last co-presentation, and yes, the Road to shows prior to Christmas are their last shows as a group.
It would be interesting to see any of these guys in existing groups. Taichi and DOUKI in Hontai or Zack and Nobu in CHAOS just feels wrong. "Each member will be taking their own paths" was the exact quote, but they feel so much like family that you would have think they would regroup sans-Suzuki. This could be the way they let Suzuki go full freelance and have Jake Lee appear in the New Year with an immediate army behind him. The only other thing I can think of is Shibata hinting at having a presence at WK where Zack/Narita are facing for the TV title, when both are disciples of his philosophies in their own way.

It's a real end of an era in New Japan.

They shouldn’t have taken the NEVER title off Tama in the first place.
Also, boy did they ever pick the two most uninteresting teams to win these tournaments.

It’s weird Suzuki-Gun is disbanding and CHAOS are getting the title shots.
CHAOS is the least cohesive stable in the company where SZG is perhaps the most.

Wonder if Kyle or Mark got an injury that will put them on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

I more understand the junior tag winners because New Japan desperately wants to get YOH over but Bey/Austin and Titan/BUSHI were infinitely more interesting choices.

I think it has more to do with YOH because he’s a homegrown talent who’s been with them since day one. That still means a ton in puro.
