As a Dodgers fan I’m not exactly upset at the Padres struggling, but as a baseball fan it’s a bit confusing. On paper that team should mash but it just seems like they don’t click. Padres big moves and underwhelming returns, name a more iconic duo. The Mets and their big moves going like three times over the luxury tax to be having crisis press conferences before mid-season.

The sad thing is they drained their farm system to build this team, and many of their core players are signed until 2056 (give or take) so if things do go south they are kind of stuck with it. Soto is a FA after next season, and I’m almost positive he’s going to put up Ted Williams numbers in 2024 before he hits free agency, so 2023-24 is probably their best shot.

After the banner year he had last year, watching Manny Machado look like a fool out there on the field is freaking demoralizing. The only batter/fielder playing with any heart anymore is Ha-Seong Kim.

Manny Machado's play this year is making me really glad the Phillies didn't end up getting him, granted, Harper off his MVP year still looks like he's struggling after his UCL surgery, but... Manny has nothing wrong with him and he looks like that I expected the Padres to come back even stronger with Tatis Jr, I have no clue what happened to them, but they might wind up being deadline sellers and if they are, A LOT of teams heads are gonna perk up. If the Mets weren't having a damn near historic mess right now I feel like the Padres would be under the media microscope more.

I predict that Snell, Hader and sadly, Kim, are guys up on the block. At which point, I migrate to whichever team gets Snell.

Would be super ironic if the Phillies traded for Snell... the guy who broke Harper's hand on an errant pitch Hey he can't do it ever again if you put him on the roster!

Wow Marte has really killed the Mets the last two nights, he stinks. The sooner he is off the team the better for the Mets.
Marte or Donaldson who is the worst player in New York?

Just another regular night for Shohei in which he hits a 493 ft homer tonight in Anaheim.

I think it's time to start asking if Tatis is a locker room cancer. Consider that last season, the Padres didn't have any of the issues they are having this season. What's different from last season than this season? Tatis being on the team.

I'm shocked Shohei Ohtani hasn't been charged under the Geneva Convention for the way he demoralizes and destroys baseballs. Here's footage of him tonight doing exactly that:

Ohtani might have a real shot at breaking Judge's set record if he keeps doing this and stays healthy.

Ohtani might have a real shot at breaking Judge's set record if he keeps doing this and stays healthy. He's one better than Judge's pace from last season. Judge had 29 HRs at the end of June last year; Ohtani has 30 HRs currently. And don't forget that after Judge hit #61, he had a long drought before he finally hit #62. So Ohtani has a very good chance to at least tie Judge.

July 1st means it's everyone's favorite holiday Bobby Bonilla day!
So it being his day and all I have a question what would the reaction be if the Mets for the lols retired his number? Like yeah I get that he by no way played with the Mets to a standard that would warrant it. But come on by this point Bobby is just a part of Mets history and lore and it would be hilarious and just a fun light hearted affair

Why doesn't uncle Steve just pay off the rest of Bonilla's contract.

Ohtani’s next contract is going to start with a 6, and that’s probably still a bargain for whoever signs him. Great hitter, great pitcher, and a legit draw. Once in a lifetime player.

He's not getting $600M, if he does it would have to be over 20 years and like $200M would be deferred which the MLBPA will not let happen What I see happening is $500M over 12 years with some qualifiers to add $100M if he hits certain milestones or break records

I think the minimum he gets is 12yrs/$600m but we will see.
