WBC has been great. The Japan-based block has been a blast, with the home team being obviously a bit steamrolly. The Taichiung block was so tight that every team ended with a 2-2 record (Cuba and Italy seem to pass due to run difference)

How do you guys feel about roster eligibility for the wbc? Like how do you feel about players with very loose ties to a country represent them in competitive play? Like if was an athlete, I could be eligible to play for team Israel despite never stepping foot in the country nor having any biological ancestry there. I hope it's not a controversial take, but I wouldn't feel right playing for nation I don't have much ties too.

I mean I don't mind it. For some people it is best way to showcase themselves while others it does offer sentimental value 

They talked about it during the Great Britain and USA game. Even the manager acknowledges only 5 people on the roster was born there but the ultimate plan is this inspires young talent down the line.

Yet the Yankees entire pitching rotation, plus relievers, plus others are hurt

Injuries don't really care about what you're doing at what time, they just happen, and playing in the WBC is no less risk than playing Spring games.

Well that sucks for Edwin and the Mets. Gotta feel bad for all involved the season is less than 2 weeks away and you go down with a random freak accident injury during a celebration. Fingers crossed this isnt an all year type of injury and that he can come back sometime this season.

Mike Soroka got hurt just walking in the clubhouse.

Devastating injury for Diaz and the Mets. They probably sign a reliever or two now and trade for a closer if in contention.
