This is only good for the global growth of the game with that type of rating This has been something I've wanted since the mid 90's. Even if it means more domestic teams, there are plenty of great players who aren't in the MLB right now, so the arguments that it will dilute the league aren't true. I find it a bit humourous the WBC features more of the world than the 'World Series' Unfortunately, right now a lot of these international leagues pay better than the MLB does.

So Luke Voit opted out of his deal to sign with the Brewers, he can still sign with them, but it leaves him open to negotiate a deal with another team
He's either gonna sign with the Phillies because first base is wide open for his to take or he's gonna try and get more money from the Brewers. Feel like it's leaning towards the first one because he can start for the Phillies out the gate where with the Brewers he's behind Tellez on the bench
For the Phillies it'd be a no risk situation, you see if he carries the hot hand over from spring, and see if he can contribute in a sudden needed position, if he doesn't, you go for a more certain upgrade at the deadline (And also see who is healthy by then).
Voit's not bad though, had a down year but he's a veteran who has been on winning teams, and can hit for power in the 20 HRs a year range... really the Phillies could do way worse in the pinch they're in if they can swing this, and Voit would slide into a lineup with a lot of promise

hey to people who make fun of Mets for still paying Bobby Bonilla, The Reds are paying Ken Griffey Jr, $3.9 mil. It’s the 4th highest salary on the Reds

For me personally, Trout has no appeal outside of being a great MLB player (MLB should take a ton of blame for that). He has no marketing, no nothing. Ohtani with his ability to play both positions and having the Japanese market behind him is a massive appeal

Jordan Walker has made the Cardinals roster. Pretty aggressive for the Cardinals who have a rep for taking their time with prospects.

He should have been visible as the game best player imo You don't have to be a big personality or market yourself, the league can do that. No reason he shouldn't have been in Gatorade, Subway commercials etc with his face plastered on stuff NBA gets that right. Blake Griffin had no personality but he was in LA and a highlight reel star and got put in KIA commercials adapted around his personality. Tim Duncan did commercials as well Trout doesn't have to be out there hosting SNL but imo he should at least been in every commercial with an MLB ad over the last 10 years

Ohtani with his ability to play both positions and having the Japanese market behind him is a massive appeal Yeah, what's your favorite Mike Trout interview? How about Pujols? Yeah, I got nothing. Go back to the late 80's, mid 90's. Bo Jackson was the biggest star in football, don't remember a thing he said. Barry Sanders the same way. These guys were sellable stars and they needed no real personality. Albert didn't get good at English for a long time, nobody gave a shit. Jordan Walker has made the Cardinals roster. Pretty aggressive for the Cardinals who have a rep for taking their time with prospects. Walker couldn't really prove himself any more in the minors. Everybody knows he's ready enough. I just hope he stays in the lineup if he needs to work through anything. The outfield is full and so are the corner IFs, so if Goldy or Arenado needs a DH day or Gorman needs a day in, it's probably him that's gonna sit. That city was gonna burn if they didn't.

That sucks They are down two big bats with Hoskins and Harper (until probably All Star game). Still got Kyle, Catellanos, Turner but going need others to step up. Stott, Bohm, and Sosa mainly Darick Hall is also not gonna get like daily playing time, maybe the whole season barring them trading for another first baseman The Phillies could just slide Alec Bohm over to first base (he's played 16 games at that position since debuting in the bigs, with only one error in those games) and open up third base for Edmundo Sosa or Josh Harrison. They could also play Kyle Schwarber at first, as he had a cup of coffee at the position in 2021 with the Red Sox, although he's since admitted he pretty much hated playing first base. Philly could also swing a trade for someone like Boston's Bobby Dalbec, who was just sent down to Triple-A after losing the job to prospect Triston Casas. hey to people who make fun of Mets for still paying Bobby Bonilla, The Reds are paying Ken Griffey Jr, $3.9 mil. It’s the 4th highest salary on the Reds But that's Ken Griffey Jr. And it's the Reds... Joey Votto is making $25 million this season, and he accounts for 35 percent of the Reds' 2023 payroll. Conversely, Aaron Judge is making $40 million this season, but he accounts for 14 percent of the Yankees' 2023 payroll. I get that it's not an apples-to-apples comparison, but the gutting of the Cincinnati Reds is shameful. They're one of baseball's legacy franchises and they're being operated like a Triple-A organization. If it weren't for the Great American Ball Park, the Reds would be in the same sentence as the Rays and A's as the league's most pathetically-run franchises.

Looks like for now they're gonna run with internals and see if the squad produces... if they don't I think they're gonna make moves.

Nico Hoerner just signed a 3 year extension with the Cubs! Dude looked fantastic the last few years, and dude is a hell of a defender! Cubs have one of the best defensive teams, they will go hitless ALOT, but defense side they should keep games within striking distance. I am looking forward to the season starting on Thursday! Will be up on the rooftop across the street from Wrigley.
