How high on the list of terrible contracts is Kris Bryant’s with the Rockies?
How insulting is it to their fans they traded Nolan Arenado for pennies on the dollar because of cost only to sign Bryant to a 9-digit deal a season later?
I have issues with how Farhan runs the Giants … but at least he didn’t re-sign KB.

They just want to be good enough to be in it until the last two weeks of the season, so as to not ruin their ticket sales grift. The owners are outright sleazeballs, which is why it's so infuriating to see people carry water for them in labor negotiations or make it out like both sides are equally bad. Ask White Sox fans. And that's not even bringing into account poverty franchises like the A's or Pirates who are just there for the revenue sharing checks.

The owners had outright colluded to try to cut the price of FAs for like a few years stretch where people either got long terms deals or they got a 1 year deal but no inbetween I've said it before but even tho MLB players are very good, their needs to be a floor for the owners to spend. If you can't spend $60M minimum to field a team then what we doing. It won't stop you from actually tanking your efforts to lose if you still want to do so but there is no reason A's and Pirates should continue to be claiming broke every year. Same with Tampa until they finally started spending money That Acuna Jr contract is Scottie Pippen levels of bad tho; ATL fleeced him

And their reward for it is peanuts comparatively.

And their reward for it is peanuts comparatively. $100M for Acuna was nice as far as guaranteed money goes before he really established himself BUT that's over 10 years and during that time he's probably going to cost himself $200M more he could have made. The fact they got 2 years of Club Options two is bullshit The rumors are he is expected to holdout for another deal which would be bold because no MLB player has done that unlike the NFL but it is only leverage he has

Amazingly, if they keep playing the way they have been, the Reds could be a serious post-season possibility this year. After the trash fire of a season they had last year, that's kinda nice to see them putting together a run. And, as a Padres fan, against all logic, I can only attribute it to one man: Wil Myers.

Reds definitely have a shot with Elly and McLain up. I don’t think their pitching will hold up though. My guess is it will either be the Brewers or Cubs winning the Central but it’s open and won’t take a lot of wins to get the division. Even the Cardinals are only 8.5 back so a lot can happen. The AL Central is way more poverty. At least the NL side has teams on the come up. It’s just a whole bunch of shit on the AL side.

oh boy! Cub game is on Peacock which means no Boog or Joe Girardi calling the game...and son of a bitch Joe Girardi is calling the game on Peacock...
During the 3rd inning the other peacock announcer asked Joe what the name of street was on the right field side and Girardi goes "Thats Ashland"
Mind you, Joe is from Peoria, his wife is from here, he has been working for the Cubs since last year, he lives in Chicago, he played for the Cubs from 89 to 92 and again from 2000 - 2002, dude should know the street by this point, Wrigley is on Addison, Clark, Waveland and Sheffield. Right field is on Sheffield. Where in the blue hell did he get Ashland from??? Thats gonna be a solid E-2 on that one Joe...

Ohtani pitches a 9-inning shutout.
The Angels lose 1-0.
I get the feeling we may one day see that headline.
Absolutely. We were up 8-2 to the Royals, put in some dude for his first pitching appearance ever and it just went downhill so quick. Bleh. I saw a joke tweet months ago that said something like “every Angels tweet I see says something like ‘Ohtani 4-5 and 8 shutout innings , Trout does something that hasn’t been done since 1927. Angels lose 8-7”. This week I saw a tweet that was real and was basically the same thing.

I've watched most games for years now way before Ohtani/Trout showed up and lemme tell ya, yesterday was the biggest Tungsten game besides the one where Shohei had 8 RBI and we lost. Yesterday suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

The Red Sox are last in the AL East, and if playing in the AL Central they'd be tied for the lead, and in the NL Central they'd be a half game back. The Central divisions are ass cheeks.

Hal Seinbrenner worst owner in sports, how he can okay with this, and not make some changes to shake up the team is beyond me. His ownership is terrible for the sport. Something has to be done, you can't just sit here wait for Judge and / or this bum start hitting. I keep saying if Boone gets fired, the Yankees probably win 10 in a row.
If the Yankee lose tonight and Hal does nothing, it is clear he doesn't care about the team, about the fans, he just wants to make a profit. Say what you want about Jerry Jones, at least he cares.

And it is not that the Yankees lost again, what really set me off was Aaron Boone post game conference, his lack of urgency is unacceptable. So I can't even be mad at Boone anymore, and maybe Cashman, this is on Hal, he needs to step up and show he cares.

The Yanks got rid of Hicks why? He's been a godsend for the Orioles.

The Yanks got rid of Hicks why? He's been a godsend for the Orioles. Because he was asscheeks This is what usually happens once players leave NY. They don't have pressure to perform and he's getting paid dirty cheap by O's
