I know he’s ready to be “The Guy” and has accomplishments like beating Punk in Chicago, but I feel like he should of won a midcard title or something

Feels like he got a better deal than most midcard champions have gotten in AEW, with MJF promos feeling like a mandatory weekly segment much of the time.

He did get a mid-card title. The Dynamite Diamond Ring!

Remember when they were trying to pretend that the TNT was on par with the World Title lmao.
But in all honesty, he has been above the midcard since he beat Cody at Revolution 2020

Same with Stone Cold in 97

Yep. He was his own type of attraction. (Still is). It’s benefited others more.

Because championships aren't everything and he had already established himself as main event adjacent by the time the TNT Belt came to fruition.

He didn't need it, and keeping the midcard belts free let them build other people up instead. MJF's feuds have generally been high profile and given priority on weekly television time; he doesn't need the belt to get on the show and he arguably benefited more from more focused and story-oriented approaches. Midcard belts in AEW are a lot more fighting champ-driven. That's a good thing in my eyes, but it does mean some people end up wildly ill-suited for those belts. MJF as a fighting champ with lots of different opponents doesn't seem like nearly the right way to elevate him up the card.

He's been main event level from the start. Also not sure his character would want a mid-card title

I think that, like Naito with the US title, he was indifferent to the idea of getting the TNT title.
I think they could have gotten away with MJF and Wardlow as tag champs briefly, maybe, but it's for the best they never went for that.

There's definitely merit in wrestlers winning mid-card titles before the big one, but MJF's character is of a self-entitled shithead heel who happens to be incredibly good. The big one being his first belt is the right choice.

He did get a mid-card title. The Dynamite Diamond Ring! A mixture of not needing one and this... he's won the Diamond Ring thing multiple times at this point as well as the poker chip. So besides just wins and losses dude has accomplishments to his name he can point to.

A mixture of not needing one and this... he's won the Diamond Ring thing multiple times at this point as well as the poker chip. He's literally the only person to ever win the Diamond Ring since its inception; he's gone three for three in those matches. At this point they should just stop having the match and just award him a ring every December...

It absolutely fits Max's character that the only title he cares about is the World title.

It felt like he only wrestled like 3 times a year. It'd be weird to have a character appear that little as a champion unless your name is Brock Lesnar.

While they could've, he didn't really need it. The programs he were featured in were high profile, and the overall goal with these programs is to further solidify MJF's status as a main event calibre player. The TNT wasn't necessary to achieve that goal and it's better off to help elevate others who could benefit from it more than MJF can. If anything, you prep MJF up for the big one.

Would you rather be MJF at any point in his AEW run or Wardlow right now?
