Were it not for Danhausen labelling the Gunn Club as Daddy Ass and the Ass Boys, the whole deal with the Acclaimed would most likely never have happened.
I hope Daddy Ass knows this.

I will say I think what really put it over the top was Bowens getting "SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS" over, it got both the catchphrase over and got Billy Gunn way over as "Daddy Ass" The whole "Ass Boys" thing was absolutely the first tipped domino though, and I don't think Austin and Colten are ever going to escape that chant for the rest of their careers lol |

Billy was wise to embrace "The Ass Boys" and "Daddy Ass" readily. Without his approval, and Austin and Colten's over the top hostility to it, I don't think it'd have caught on as much as it did. And naturally, the Acclaimed ran with it.

I knew Danhausen’s mere presence would pay for itself in the shirts he’d sell…but I never could have guessed it would pay for itself 10 times over in the Daddy Ass/Acclaimed merch he would indirectly move.

I remember back when he was fresh to teaming with Max, he just glared at one of the jobbers they were facing, who then didn't even attempt to break up the winning pin. Similarly, Bowen just brings that same level of intensity to this and other comedy. No hesitation or doubt, he just jumps right in. |

I just never thought Billy Gunn in the year 2022 would be so hugely over the way he is. He was never this over during his big 1999 push. Still good on Billy for catching on with his Daddy Ass character.
