One difference I've noticed between a wrestling match and a real fight is the wrestlers never suffer(storyline or otherwise) bruises. They may bleed, but no black and blue marks.
Now, I know that that not every real life fight, be it professional sports, or on the street results in bruises, but you'd think in a pro wrestling ring, to keep the illusion real and the hard-hitting nature of it in general, they would have bruises on them since they'd be doing that sort of thing regularly. Has a match ever resulted in a shiner(outside of storyline of course).
Has it ever been explained in kayfabe why the wrestlers never have marks on them? I'd imagine the reason you see them bleed(via blading) is it's alot easier(and quicker) to hide a razor blade in one of your wristbands, then put on make up to look like you suffered a black eye.
Any reasons for that?

Joey Mercury had two shiners and a busted nose from a ladder match with the Hardy Boys.
Maybe not the same but Flair talked about how they took, I think Steamboat, backstage one night and roughed up his face with sandpaper so that it would look like he was really beat. I think maybe Ole punched him legit as well to swell his eye.

Take it all away, take it all away... The jagged outlines, the combination of the shades of blue, black and red, the pain associated with it appearing on the body, it makes me wince. The bruise looks nasty too.

That should depend on the style. When there's lots of tight grips, there should be more bruises. Maybe it was more prevalent in the past when there were lockups in almost every match and many wrestlers were based in amateur wrestling?

I remember that this was one of JR'S old man yelling at clouds opinions that I don't mind. JR is very anti punching, because it's a guaranteed visual injury, whereas a hold or a flat bump can be easier to explain away the lack of cuts, bruises, etc.

I don't understand the fixation (among workers and fans) on "good" punches in wrestling, because good punches aren't even that good and forearms/elbows/etc. make more sense with the supposed ruleset.

They get bruises. Look at Ronda Rousey after every match in her first run.

Punches are stupid because you would murder your own hands if they were really "good". Plus, chops, elbows, and forearms are just so much more satisfying to see.

I imagine wrestlers don't want to use makeup to fake bruises because it might smudge and completely ruin the visual.

Versus GUNTHER, for instance, though GUNTHER makes anyone come away from a match with him looking like they got the shit kicked out of them.

Most US promotions outlawed the closed fist. I’m not sure I can think of any pre-ECW that did allow them. Now, that’s not to say it was common for people to be DQ’d for them. But they we’re technically illegal. Not sure about any non-US based promotions.

it happens.
Last Saturday local heel got black eye during the opening match. Now the official word is the new face gave it to him.
But talked to REDACTED and learned when he took a cannonball into the first 3 rows a chairback caught him and gave him the black eye.
I am sure today at his shoot job he was asked 100 times how he got it. But I am sure they know. REDACTED has worked there almost all his life and been doing MMA and wrestling for close to 20 years now.

I guess they do on occasion get bruises....kayfabe or otherwise. Such as after Nailz put Big Bossman out of commision for a few months... He also got a legit injury from Hardcore Holly breaking a glass jar over his face in a hardcore match.
