Speaking of the News account just being a propaganda mouthpiece at this point...

That's because the only ones who call it X are the corps who seem to be "forced" to, and most of them still also say Twitter.

"X" is just a letter, which is why the whole rename sounds stupid to this day.

BlueSky and Threads should've been ready to publicly launch the day Elon walked into that f***ing building with a sink. The iron was hot, now the window is closed and we just have to wait for this dumb motherf***er to run out of money or die.

Bluesky was tied to twitter at the point of the buyout and didn't have any employees at all until 2022. They could have had something ready to go by the time the buyout went through if they'd built something on ActivityPub, but Jack Dorsey and co wanted to make sure they've got full control of everything, which surely doesn't hint at a future pulling up of ladders to centralise and monetise everything the way they did when they pulled all the third party twitter support that helped build that platform.
Never forget Bluesky is run by the person who made Twitter suck, pre-Elon.

I'd have loved to have been the person on reception when he walked in with a sink. Just to act confused about who is and redirect him to the plumbing store down the street and spoil his big moment.

Twitter: "Trust us, bro." So Elon doesn’t know what “TL;DR” means?

There's an argument that could be made for it being as bad because it was being used to radicalise people, only it was being done more subtly. How often did people here log on to twitter and leave feeling angry and miserable within a few minutes because of the garbage recommended to them to drive engagement? Libs of TikTok, Andy Ngo, Tim Pool et al didn't come out of nowhere when Elon took over, they were already heavily promoted and protected, Pool has said openly Jack Dorsey was talking to him behind the scenes and making sure he couldn't be punished like any other user. A certain ex reality TV star was only banned by previous management after years of flagrant rules violations after they were left with no choice. Elon ripped the mask off and exposed the hate that was always there under the surface, it was a respectable propaganda engine, and now it's not even that. I won't ever say twitter as it is now is good, but I won't pretend he paved over paradise. The site made me miserable every time I logged on to see the sewage that was trending, the features taken away or the friends who were banned with no real route for appeal for saying naughty words about transphobes harassing them, and I didn't realize the extent it was driving me up the wall until after I left, which I did the moment he took over.

The best thing about Elon Twitter is that he makes it very obvious and in your face that the site f***ing sucks. He ripped the mask off like Joker ambushing a Shadow. Not that I think that was his intention but that's what happened.

For quite some time, every day or at least a day and a half, Twitter logs me out out of the blue in both Android (I use Chrome to navigate, not the app) and the laptop. I tried looking if there was some news regarding it but I couldn't find nothing. Is that normal?
