I'd have been warmer to the idea if it was stated on the onset. Feels strange making a best of seven AFTER the first match has already been won.

Yet still somehow handled better than whatever Cesaro/Sheamus was. God every single thing about that storyline was complete trash. No real reason for the feud to even happen, it just went on and on and on and yet they somehow wound up doing several of the matches on house shows and yet they had other house show matches that didn't count and then they went to a double count out and then they lost their stupid title shot to New Day anyway. The Bar eventually worked out great but the way they got there was absolutely horrible.

The key will be the stories that run through the matches, whether it’s Fenix’s regret over using the hammer or something about the Elite’s attitude since their absence or what have you…and honestly that’s why I think it’ll work. For all the criticisms some corners of wrestling fandom throw at the Bucks, specifically, the fact is that they and Omega are borderline obsessive about making sure their matches have some kind of story to it, whether it’s an underlying dynamic or something that builds over multiple meetings. Death Triangle is more than capable of working right within that style.
Basically, the matches will undoubtedly be awesome but the character/story work will put it over the top.

"KD you want to watch more AEW?"
"Why yes, yes I actually might"
"Well here you go on a silver platter"
"Oh thank you!"

After their match tonight was over, I said to my friend that "this is f***in' AEW" to me. This is exactly the content the company was founded on, and on the backs of these exact competitors. Yep, I had much the same reaction. I don't think think I'll ever get bored of it but I guess I'll find out.

One of their issues is I believe the seven matches started after at least one match And while we got The Bar out of it, I can see why ending it in a draw upset some people

This is what started the turnaround.

Hindsight does a lot to make the idea seem better, but usually when WWE throws a curveball like "Oh they tied their best of seven, uh-oh!" it's not really a satisfying curve ball.

Yes I think when they first teamed I was hyped for the team but anticipated it lasting about a month before feuding again

So does that means last night retroactively wasn't a title match? Like if the Elite won they wouldn't even have become champions despite it being advertised as a title match, they'd just have gone 1-0 up in a series. I've saw it done the opposite way were a match ended up being a title match afterwards but no one knew it at the time (Asuka winning MITB then finding out later the title was in the case and she's now champion).

IMO its time for meltzer to assist with the meltzer driver I think they should do a Canadian Destroyer spot that actually destroys Canada As a Canadian, I’d rather they didn’t.

I think the idea's supposed to be that Tony turned it into a best-of-seven due to Death Triangle cheating but I dunno why he'd still credit them the first win in that case.

Do have to wonder if the gap before the last match is due to some of them potentially being scheduled for Wrestle Kingdom. In Kenny’s case, that seems to be it.

I genuinely don't think I would want to see a best of 7 of anyone. After 2 or 3 matches, I'm good. I also have the attention span of a toddler, so there's that.
