It doesn’t necessarily have to be card position, just are you more or less interested in them than you were on January 1.
I was just thinking how Riddle went from a super over team to a main event level feud with Rollins to this comedy midcard team with Elias.
Better:
All of The Bloodline All of Judgment Day All of the Brawling Brutes Cody Rhodes
Worse:
Matt Riddle Baron Corbin New Day MVP

Drew McIntyre. this year might have become the first person to kick out of The End of Days, but dude choked in Cardiff to add to his awful post WM37 PPV record and it looks like his days as a main eventer are over.

I almost put him but then I checked and he was in a never-ending midcard feud with Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss at the beginning of the year. I'd take big main events at CATC/SS over that. He's definitely not got the momentum he had in 2020 though.

I can’t agree with Riddle. He had a world title shot against Roman and tapped out Rollins clean in the Main Event of a PPV

I could see a Drew heel turn in 2023. Not sure it’ll reverse his fortunes but I can’t see it doing any harm at this point.

Dude was dealing with a neck injury when he was in the Corbin - Moss feud though, and he while he had lost matches on PPV, none of them felt as devastating as him losing at the Castle and he had a wretched feud with Mr Carcass, so I would put him on the worse off list.

Better
- The Brawling Brutes: What started off as a middling heel midcard gimmick (further exacerbated by Pete Dunne abruptly becoming Butch) has rounded the corner into something even better and reinvigorated all three men's careers.
- Cody Rhodes: his run in AEW pretty much ended in so much muddled weirdness. Got to return home as a conquering hero in a big Mania moment. Obviously, the injury at Hell in a Cell is a bummer and basically ended Cody's year early, but he's in a position where he'll get a massive reaction from fans whenever he returns to the ring.
- Judgement Day: Obviously started off on the wrong foot with them being forced into a "spooky heel stable" role. Booting Edge from the group and adding Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley, plus a heel-turned Dominik Mysterio gave them new life. JD works better as this stable of petty, evil assholes.

The "You people" heel archetype is just not a good fit for Drew whatsoever.

You're neglecting to mention his recent boring ass feud with Karion Kross which combined with him losing at CATC has made me a lot less interested him in now.

I would say Bloodline is the most better off. Didn't like any of them at the beginning of the year as I was sick of Roman and the Usos and Solo might have been my least favorite guy on NXT. Now they are one my favorite parts of the show. Solo in particular is becoming a favorite of mine. Making him a bad ass mute who just always looks absolutely miserable was a stroke of genius.
I would say McIntyre is probably worse off. He's still an awesome wrestler but it just feels like he's in a holding pattern at this point and really needs a good rival and feud.

I mean, it’s probably Bray Wyatt, right? He went from being unemployed to a top merch seller and someone that they’re treating with the utmost care.

Worse:
*MVP: Goes from being the mouthpiece of Bobby Lashley, a former WWE Champion, to having to be the guy who must convince anyone that Omos is legitimately anything special, and bless his heart, but there is no way anyone is buying Omos as anything other than a circus freak.
*Baron Corbin: Not many people like him, but he pretty much lost every single feud he was in, and is now stuck with JBL as his manager when ideally you were probably better off just seeing if, maybe, trying Corbin as a babyface could have worked.
*Mustafa Ali: And it wasn't like Ali was in a good spot to begin with.
*Omos: I mean, Omos has gone from being a potential giant to a freak show attraction they trot out once in a while. They were more than willing to give up on Babatunde, so I'm not sure what is keeping him around.
*Drew McIntyre: Drew seemed to be pushed as potentially "the guy" to unseat Roman, but after he lost at Clash at the Castle, all of his status as a top guy is just gone and he just loses.
Better:
*Austin Theory: Sure, he was saddled with Vince for most of the year, and he was a failed Money in the Bank cash-in, and he was treated as a bitch for a long time, but a WrestleMania main event and a United States Championship is better than where he was last year, which ended with something about an egg.
*Cody Rhodes: Went from being a guy people hated in AEW for doing stuff on his own to being a huge star in WWE for... doing mostly the same stuff in AEW.
*The Judgement Day: Started horribly with Edge in charge, was rudderless when they kept losing to Edge's random buddies of the week, but after Extreme Rules, have just found that spark.

Rhea Ripley feels exponentially better off than she was a year ago, when she was only getting used in 2-minute tag matches partnering with Nikki A.S.H.

Better - Absolutely everyone due to not having their careers dependent on the changing whims of Vince.

Sami Zayn went from a comedy feud with Johnny Knoxville to a guy people want to see main event Wrestlemania.

Better: Bloodline, Shotzi (since she's in her natural face role now), Judgment Day, Cody Rhodes, Nikki Cross, Liv Morgan, Kevin Owens
Worse: AJ Styles, Mustafa Ali, Viking Raiders, Alexa Bliss

On the subject of Madcap Moss they seemed really high on him when the year started and by now he appears to be utterly irrelevant.
