Psst, that's called that because he gave their matches good ratings. Evidence against The Elite leaking the rumour to Dave Metlzer: -The rumour being around well before the reports -Everyone saying they heard it from other people -The continued rumbling of uncertainty over it that people just randomly pointed out in the months before about how Colt wasn't around -Colt Cabana being a widely beloved guy with lots of friends who aren't The Elite and who could also be talking about it Evidence for The Elte leaking the rumour to Dave Meltzer: -CM Punk says it happened Gosh guys I dunno these really seem equally compelling, if you don't believe the latter I think you're stupid the elite are meltzer boys going back to before the first all in, pretty sure they have told him stuff over years. But does that mean they told him stuff here? Is "They've said stuff before probably" justify the public accusation and action? Because that's not concrete evidence of anythnig. Like this is just "I feel in my gut that The Elite told him this", it doesn't hold up. |

the elite are meltzer boys going back to before the first all in, pretty sure they have told him stuff over years. I am sure they've told Meltzer and Alvarez stuff over the years, sure, but both of them have said the Cabana stuff wasn't from the Bucks, and it's not really something either of those two historically do, lying for their sources. They usually just don't comment on it. Like, we also know Punk and Jericho have given information to Alvarez and Meltzer, but that's because Jericho and Punk's crew aren't exactly secretive about it, I don't recall Meltzer or Alvarez outright outing their sources. Yeah, Journalists don't normally out who they get info from, because that's a good way to lose your sources, so going out of their way to say that much about where they got the info from was a big deal in making me believe The Elite on this. |

Quite possibly but Meltzer and Bryan have both stated they never leaked them the Cabana stuff. if it wa the bucks they were never going to admit it and lose a source. journalists dont give them up That's why they would just not say anything about it one way or the other if it was true, like that'd be the prudent move, instead of complicating a lie by building on it. |

Look, even if you believe The Elite were partly at fault for the events leading up to the first Brawl In, everything since Punk's return has eclipsed that so much that it's not even worth bringing up. He's cut two shoot promos, banned people from a show and gotten into altercations at a PPV before the first match has even begun. Going "b-but The Elite!" is a moot point. Punk has proven to be unreliable without the help of anyone. Genuine question because I don’t know what more can I do: what do I need to do/say for people to accept that I think everything after Coward Shit is solely on Punk? Do I need to believe the Elite did nothing bad for the past 16 months? How about you stop with that last sentence for starters. Stop trying to make it seem like The Elite have deserved the treatment they have gotten for the past year. The Elite have not deserved to have been assaulted and continuously bashed in the media and in the ring by Punk for the past year. No matter if you think The Elite have done bad things, it doesn't excuse Punk’s treatment towards them. So stop trying to make some equivalency between The Elite's actions and Punk’s actions. |

They didn't out them as a source and specifically said they never got the info from them. Saying THAT much could narrow down who it came from which leads me to believe they thought it a big enough deal to say something. At some point media ethics has to play a part in parceling out information when it's this big of a deal. |
