I think the only way he ends up in WWE is if Triple H can’t resist the urge to bring him in and absolutely bury what’s left of Punk’s career. “Doofus son-in-law, right Phil? You’re putting Theory over in an I Quit match tonight, pal. Keep it short and make the kid look strong.” Punk would have to be kept on a VERY short leash. Also, he would be getting one hell of a cold reception on arrival.

WWE is doing jusssssst fine without Punk, and AEW will be as well.
The only entity in this whole scenario that's screwed is the 45 year old manlet
AEW was doing fine before Punk even came on board. Granted, Punk returning to wrestling did help AEW in a huge way and had some real potential to help everyone involved, but sadly all of that potential went right down the toilet. I won't dispute it being a big loss for AEW, but ultimately, everyone gets screwed over here big time. Punk screwed himself out of what he could've been a huge part of, AEW got screwed royally for not getting return on their investment, plus the headaches he gave them. Just as importantly, it hurts us wrestling fans because the time we invested in the whole angle is wasted. I said it during the first Scrum... Punk needed AEW way more than AEW ever needed Punk. did Punk help AEW? absolutely. But they could have kept on keeping on without him. The network was already really happy with their progress which is all that really mattered. AEW is the only non-WWE place that was going to pay him anywhere near what he thinks he's worth.. and AEW was always going to give him much more of a sweetheart deal.

History suggests he cant/won’t do that.

And weirdly, Punk would have been better off never going to AEW in the end. He would’ve just been that edgy badass who walked away, living life with his cute wife and ugly dog.

Totally, OK 2011 Punk was a big deal... was he ever THAT much of a bigger deal than the YES movement that overwhelmed WWE, that caused them to make the Wrestlemania 30, a big anniversary one, about Bryan? Or THAT much bigger than Mox, 1/3 of one of the biggest deals in WWE in the last 10 years besides 2 of their main eventers. Punk was massive, but not so much more than talent they already had that was far easier to deal with

That statement was f***ing insane.
Like we really sat here in real time and watched Phil Brooks lose his f***ing mind.

In an example of life imitating art, Vince decides to destroy his creation by injecting poison into WWE and signing Punk.

That statement was f***ing insane. Like we really sat here in real time and watched Phil Brooks lose his f***ing mind. Tony Khan literally said he was afraid for his life HE SAID HE WAS AFRAID, FOR HIS LIFE. We may never see that footage, but that about sums it up better than anyone else or any report ever could, CM Punk needed to go, he needed to go for everyone's sake before something even worse happened. Dude needs help.

If it's true he tried to attack Tony Khan, and it certainly sounds true, then honestly Punk is an even bigger psycho than I thought.
The guy has serious issues and should be nowhere near wrestling ever again, he's a violent dangerous nutcase.
I have been saying in this thread for months he should have been fired after All Out last year but honestly better late than never, there will be a ton of people in AEW sighing a big relief today that this narcissistic poisonous bullying man has gone. Honestly, good riddance.

For the first time since that infamous scrum, I actually do really feel bad for Tony. The guy was Punk's biggest fan, wanted him and AEW to do some great things together, and did everything he could to accommodate him. As questionable as the latter was as a boss, I at least understood it was driven by a genuine desire for things to work out with a wrestler he really appreciated. To have Punk not only waste all the opportunities that were given him, but even actually physically threaten him despite TK being in his corner for so long? It has to be heartbreaking for a life long wrestling fan.
They say don't meet your heroes because they'll never live up to your hopes. Tony did a lot more than just meet him and it has to make the conclusion that Punk was so far below the pedestal he was put on all the more depressing to realize.

Seeing a lot of people responding to the TK thing by going, "LOL, no real man would ever say he's afraid!" and just like, shut the hell up, always, forever.

I kinda do, but he's had an established pattern of getting physical with people who disagreed with him. It's just this time it happened to be the boss.

In the total wrestling sphere, this thing has now overshadowed five total shows, including the WWE PPV today. Hard to take data from twitter with so many bots, but its the least tweeted WWE PLE/PPV since the pandemic.
