Okay, finally caught up on all of this.
CM Punk is the biggest ****ing idiot in the world. Someone claim the crown from Slapjack.

We know who it is, and let’s leave the matter there and get back on-topic. We don’t need to be witch-hunting posters. Wait, at some point we were going after the Charmed Ones?

I want to sign in relief, but I have the feeling this is far from over.

What a childish situation all the way around (including the victory laps)...woof...Khan's wincing as he talked about not wanting to fire CM Punk but having too all while trying to say he was one of their own is insane during the live clips...I have never seen an owner reduced to a pawn in his own game so directly like that.
Khan's pocket book is the only thing separating him from Dixie anymore it seems

Khan's pocket book is the only thing separating him from Dixie anymore it seems I think this is incredibly unfair to Tony Khan. He did the right thing sacking Punk, he should have done it sooner yes but he at least did it. There's plenty of examples in history of bookers letting their favourite guy get away with behaviour just as bad if not worse. I also think it's unfair to act like it's wrong for Tony Khan to fear for his safety, we weren't there and Punk has shown he's an unhinged violent nutjob. I don't blame him for feeling that way.

He should have sacked him after brawl out, but at least he's done the right thing now. And like I said, plenty of evidence of bookers in wrestling history who let their favourites get away with worse.

Absolutely but we are definitely giving all the praise to Khan here when he was most certainly even by his own accounts just down for the ride too

Maybe he should give bareknuckle boxing a go now. Being a professionally trained fighter and a real tough guy and all.

Don’t even know where to begin on this, but Punk is clearly his own worst enemy at this point. Hope the dude figures shit out eventually, but he hasn’t shown a proclivity to introspection yet, it seems.
Just gonna re-iterate what other mods have said: don’t ask around about other posters based on their takes in this thread, don’t baselessly speculate about any of the involved people’s relationships with their significant others, and don’t give oxygen to Racket Man’s hot takes.

I do wonder if Punk's always been as violent as he's been the past year or if something's changed on that front. That TV house show story sounds like it's something he's had going on for a long time. He has a history, at least, of trying to chastise other wrestlers for harmless shit, like him trying to chew out Kevin Steen in front of the ROH locker room for wrestling in a t-shirt, which is a bit rich given Punk's baggy shorts he wrestled in for years that were all pretty amateurish looking. One of my deliciously petty dreams is that KO sent Punk the t-shirt and shorts he was wearing when he main-evented Wrestlemania against Stone Cold.

He did have similar stuff in WWE. His hatred of Miz when he bitched about Miz getting a Mania main event over him on his DVD. His insistence that he was a locker room leader and people should listen to him. Getting pissed at Edge and Jericho for watching a hockey game (Canada vs United States gold medal game) backstage during a house show instead of going over a match they've done countless times. It was reported that Punk thought Perry was lazy and was looking for a week off, and the glass spot was a way to do it. Never mind that Perry had that time off approved before the glass spot. And it was apparently a windshield spot, which that glass is designed to break safer than other glass. seems to me like a case of him doing this from day one then but with a way longer leash than most companies would even dream of giving him i'm just glad this can be over until the inevitable lawsuit and people jumping in to say the judge got bought off by the elite while they go back to posting rancid shitposts on reddit I've seen enough people who were with Punk in WWE say things about his time where it sounds like most just kind of ignored him, nor do I think at any time did Punk ever have more influence than other wrestlers who were in the locker room. Honestly sounds like this 2nd run more people started taking that approach and he started lashing out more.
