So some time ago I made a half-jokey post along the lines of Tony Khan to Cm Punk: "Please continue to keep quiet until I can get The Elite to re-sign. After that do and say whatever you want, I just need them to not go to WWE at all costs." And I wondered how long it would take post-re-signing for Punk to start to blow smoke on the smoldering embers of his neverending pissy bullshit. And now we know. About 10 days (since it was announced live at least). I could see one of the Jackson bros making the contractual demand that Punk will always make less than they do. Like a favored nations clause from hell.
Didn't Hall and Nash have a contract like that in WCW? If anyone was signed to a deal bigger than theirs (aside from Hogan, presumably), they'd automatically be brought up ahead of it?

I keep trying to tell myself that I won't let a person I don't know annoy me so much, especially since wrestlers by their nature are attention whores and the best way to hurt them is to ignore them. That all being said: on what planet does Punk get this ego? -He's had ONE hot feud since arriving in AEW, and that was against MJF who could have had a hot feud with anyone at that time. -Has he ever defended the AEW title any of the times since he won it? I remember he shattered his foot trying to be a smartass and do the Buckshot. -Collision's highest rating is still less than most average Dynamites. I guess he does sell a lot of merch, but so does Danhausen. Clearly the answer here is to make Collision Collisi-hausen. I don't really agree with any of this regardless but anyways no that's not how he shattered his foot. He shattered it by jumping into the crowd on Dynamite.
I stand corrected, he botched the landing on the Buckshot.

Yes, the Hangman match however did apparently have the incident where Hangman hit him too hard at one point during the match and it apparently made Punk paranoid that it'd turn into shooting. The validity of that I don't know but it's probably the thing brought up most about the match other than his inability to do the Buckshot flip.

CM Punk seeing 3-4 signs in the crowd saying he's boring and/or are about his most hated man: ![](https://img.memegenerator.net/images/15157759.jpg)

Punk: "Hangman hit me too hard once in the match, he did it on purpose! There's no way it was an accident. Now watch as I try a high flying move, it looks like shit but that's fine, because in a fight not everything is gonna be perfect, and it's been a long match I'm not 100%."

LOL and a few days ago he was actually finally gaining an upswing of respect from me. Guess he had to reset the balance.

They had a "favoured nations" clause, which meant, they'd always be equal to the highest paid person. So, they were all in favour of whatever Bret got, because it meant they got it too. They didn't go ahead, just equal to. But since Bret was mentioned, his original ask was Hogan's deal plus one penny. He got denied that, but got what he really wanted, which was money now.

This is funnier to me to because I know exactly what figure he's talking about and it's such a Punk thing to bring up. The figure sucks, I have no idea why the decided for it to be a Walmart exclusive. I don't know why they thought people would buy this rather than a ring attire version of Hangman. ![](https://i5.walmartimages.com/seo/6-Inch-Adam-Page-Figure-with-Accessories_34b02821-6f71-4fff-9c97-1187c77e7840.4cca650ad90e3650767562ada1efc140.jpeg?odnHeight=612&odnWidth=612&odnBg=FFFFFF) Had no idea they made Mike Rogers figures ![](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMTMxNDgxMDU3N15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNzc4NTYyMQ@@._V1_.jpg)

Also as a figure collector I'd like to point out they released Walmart exclusives of Hangman and Punk at the same time. Punks are all gone while Hangman is still hanging around. They did the same with MJF and Wardlow lately and Wardlow seems to be the shelf warmer there.

I know it's not a work... it's never a work... but it's very hard to get my head around the idea that this isn't a work.
This guy was one of the cooler wrestling characters ever at one point, the type people who don't want to admit they're into wrestling would point to as being their favourite guy. Now he's a semi-washed dude in his mid-40s ranting off camera about selling more toys than some guy on another show who he hasn't interacted with in over a year. Life really does come at you fast.
Having said that, even if it does lead eventually to a storyline with him vs Hangman & The Elite... before Punk came back people were talking that up like it'd be the NWO storyline x Austin vs McMahon x The Bloodline. I didn't believe that at the time, but the moment for it to be an enormous deal has certainly passed now.

In Hall's shoot he said that they each picked 10 guys who weren't in the company and if any of those guys came in and made more than them then they'd get bumped up but it wasn't just anyone. Hall even had Nash on his list initially then told Nash how much WCW offered him to make sure that Nash asked for more.

This was inevitable, he received no punishment for last year, so why wouldn't he do it again?

What's most f***ed up about the promo isn't even the Hangman shot, it's that "CM Punk brags about how much more toys he sold than another guy" would, as actual heel work in a promo, be f***ing incredible. Like, the character work implications of that would be so good and say so about his character direction and new priorities of his character, just be the perfect master stroke of a character who has fallen so far into becoming that which he hates. Even maybe wrap it up in the context of the pipebomb where he complained about not being on the programs and the collector cups because now he's at that level and he's proven to be everything he once fought against. There's so much room for a great character moment in telling a story about his downfall and having him shift into a heel character that could reinvigorate his career and delve into character work that he hasn't been able to in an eternity.
But instead it was said off television, meant for nothing, probably a shoot, and all to dig at a guy he doesn't like. It's unreal.

CM Sunk Cost Fallacy strikes again. Watching Collision was fun while Phil keeping his gob shut lasted. Unless he does this on TV it's not going to actually effect what Collision is doing That being said, he shouldn't be doing it without anywhere for it to go because he should know how it's gonna be taken.

I can’t stand CM Punk. The booking of Punk as a face on Collision makes no sense. Booking of Starks as a heel makes no sense.
If I was a Hangman, and Punk’s words wasn’t a work, I would go right up to Khan and demand my release from the company.
There is something wrong with Khan to enable all this crap.
FTR’s reputation being tainted as well by hanging around this narcissistic Punk jackwagon.
